M | 5 comments Had this book as a kid in the early 2000s (although it may have been published in the '90s). It was a kid's picture book with an elaborate illustration on each page. The illustrations were incredibly detailed and lush - similar to Graeme Base's Animalia. Each picture was some kind of detailed fantasy world i.e., tiny people living in a village between books on a shelf, tiny people and possibly creatures living inside flowers like tulips, tiny people and goldfish living on lilypads on a lake, etc. Beautiful book - wish I had total recall!

TIA!

Picture book mentioned by M - Animalia by Graeme Base

Some authors "similar" to Graeme Base, according to LibraryThing.com:

M | 5 comments Thanks Kris. Didn't spot it in the list via LibraryThing.com unfortunately.

You're welcome. Are these different groups of tiny people - or the same family travelling to different worlds? Do they have special powers?

M | 5 comments Thanks everyone for your help! I managed to find the book - I think I had combined a couple of books in my memory including 'The Paradise Garden' and 'How To Live Forever' by Colin Thompson.

Glad you found your book, M. We'll shelve it under the first title you mentioned: The Paradise Garden by Colin Thompson. (How to Live Forever mostly features "giant" books.)
