What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Had this book as a kid in the early 2000s (although it may have been published in the '90s). It was a kid's picture book with an elaborate illustration on each page. The illustrations were incredibly detailed and lush - similar to Graeme Base's Animalia. Each picture was some kind of detailed fantasy world i.e., tiny people living in a village between books on a shelf, tiny people and possibly creatures living inside flowers like tulips, tiny people and goldfish living on lilypads on a lake, etc. Beautiful book - wish I had total recall!

Thanks everyone for your help! I managed to find the book - I think I had combined a couple of books in my memory including 'The Paradise Garden' and 'How To Live Forever' by Colin Thompson.
