Cato (cato-the-cactus) In case anybody has not read them yet, I would highly recommend the books by Becky Chambers especially "The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet".

Becky Chambers has plenty of queer characters in her books. But arguably the best thing about her books is how she discusses queer topics in alien contexts. In good old science fiction tradition she puts human issues into a totally different setting with different social norms and expectations. This way she visualises how close-minded our society sometimes is. It's very smart. I love her writing, because it is thought-provoking but there is also something about it, that makes me very comfortable.

I'm part of a group of largely queer spec fic authors from New Zealand. We've produced a collection of cosy inclusive novellas set in our backyard to keep our spirits up during covid. Feel free to check out the collection ^^ My novella is one of the newest, A Gap in the Veil.
