Anushka (bookish_swiftie) | 4 comments Those were fantasy. For mystery you can try One of Us Is Lying, One of Us is Next, Two Can Keep A Secret and The Cousins. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is great too.

It has been a little more than a year since your original request. Hopefully, you have found some great books since then. If you are still looking, here are a few more recommendations:
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton (first in a trilogy, but can stand alone)
Renegades by Marissa Meyer (first in a trilogy)
The Hobbit, or There and Back Again by J.R.R. Tolkien (classic)
The Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans (first in a series)

I have a daughter who is an adrenaline junkie. She's big on fast-paced action and humor in her books. All of the above have elements of fantasy, lots of adventure, and a touch of romance. (Well, The Hobbit may not have much romance.) If you like these, here are the first books for a few other series she enjoyed, but I have not read:
The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui T. Sutherland
The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan
Slathbog's Gold by M.L. Forman
