Hi! I am Diane (pronounced Djienne). I am a Nurse Educator who currently lives in metro-Atlanta, Georgia in the US, but am originally from the state of Maine. I have been actively reading the 1001 list since 2008, and joined the group in 2009. At this writing, I have read 1067 of the books. I regularly read in English, French, and Spanish and can struggle through Dutch.
Hi! I am Sean. I live in Sunny San Diego, California. I began reading from one list or another since I was in high school. It began my love of lists and classic lit. When I found Boxall's list it was a perfect fit for what I had been reading, and I was very happy that it was getting periodic updates (let's hope they continue).
I will be your group-read moderator. Love to see everybody join in.
Happy reading everybody.

Hi! I'm Ellinor. I'm from Munich in Germany. I first came across the list in a bookstore more than ten years ago. I had read about a hundred books from it then. I actively started reading the list in 2012 when I joined Goodreads and this group. I've now (Feburary 2021) read 40% of the combined list.
I'm the only non-native English speaker among the moderators so please forgive me if I make a few mistakes. I read in English and German and occasionally also in Spanish and French. If you have any questions about translations you can always ask me and I will try to help.
I also take care of the groupshelves. So if you notice any inaccuracies there, feel free to contact me or mention it in one of the threads.

Hi, I’m Karen. I’m a Texas girl, born and bred! I have lived in several parts of the state, but have called San Antonio my home for over 50 years.
I retired in 2007 after 31 years as a Bilingual Elementary Special Ed. Teacher. A job I absolutely loved. I specialized in Reading and Math, but also provided content support for my students in Social Studies and Science. I am currently working as the personal assistant to two adorable, miniature dachshunds.
My passion has always been reading! I was reading before I started 1st grade, finished the Ginn Basic Readers fairly quickly, and was reading Little Women by 2nd grade. Middle and High School was Honors classes with a heavy emphasis on English and American classics – lots of Shakespeare, Dickens, Hawthorne, Steinbeck, and others.
I joined Goodreads in 2015 and the Boxall Group a year later. I started with just under 300 list books read and am now at 843.
I love classic literature, but I also enjoy Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mysteries, a little Non-Fiction (mostly History), Bible Study, Children’s and Middle Grade Literature, YA, Graphic Novels, Comics, and Manga. I’m rather an eclectic reader! I like any type of book – hardbacks, paperbacks, eBooks, and audiobooks.
My other interests (in my spare time) are piano, music, movies, gardening, walking the dogs, crafts, and crochet.
I am so honored to be a moderator for this wonderful, dynamic group!

Posted on behalf of George:
Hi I'm George. I live in Salt Lake City Utah. I'm a semi-retired hospital nurse. I didn't start reading before first grade, but I did teach my younger sister to read before first grade. She became the high school newspaper editor and got an English lit degree so I think it may have had some long-term effect!
I always liked to read old classic literature and when my daughter learned about this book "1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die", she decided to make a present of it to me. I had already read 90 or so when I looked through it; now, eleven years later I'm up to 360 from all the editions.
I've enjoyed the Goodreads camaraderie and hope I can help others enjoy it also.

When I discovered Boxall's list, I appreciated the chance to broaden my horizons and read outside my comfort zone. I've completed about a quarter of the list and am enjoying it.
