Hi Everyone,
The Texas Storms are bad. Keep losing power. Yesterday, had it for about a hour. Today, no power yet.
And phones and internet aren't doing well also.
Writing this using my phone, just a quick before

I live in SW Texas, usually we don't have snow, we usually have 50, 60, 70 degree weather. Once in a while it will snow but never this bad. But we're manging through it all
Round 2 of snow, have no power, freezing in the house and now we have boil the water before using it.
Is anyone else having winter problems?
Hope everyone is safe :D

We got power back on at 3 am (Horray) Its 31 degree and its sunning . Snow it starting to melt.
We still have to boil water, grocery stores are pretty empty, and no gasoline at pumps. What an adventure, if you what to call it that.
How are y'all fairly?

Linda C (libladynylindac) | 988 comments Upstate NY here - we're to get 8" tonight. Got 8" last weekend and 6" the week before, so snow is nothing new here. Temps from 10-20 for the last few weeks. But I feel for you, you are not prepared for it like we are.

Back in 1991 we got a bad ice storm the first week in March that broke large trees, took down power lines, leaving them hot on the roads. We had no heat or light for 10 days. It is a time I will never forget.

Take care

Glad you got power back. It's crazy what is happening there. I live in SC so if we got what you got, we would be struggling as well. Just tons of rain here. Feels like it has rained almost a month straight. I hope things get better there soon and you all thaw out.

What strange weather! Snow is gone, electricity came back, don't have to boil water anymore, and its almost 80° today. I earned a lot about keeping warm in cold weather.
We are all OK. Grocery Stores are still a little empty, but we're OK.
I hope everyone is OK too.
Thanks for ya'll support. It helped a lot. :D

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 734 comments So glad to hear y'all are "back to normal" ... such as it is. I've been following what's going on through my brother.

I'll get my 2nd vaccine this coming week. So I'll be ready to come to SAT in May for our nephew's graduation. Hope to see you and Marilyn, Diana!

Yoo Hoo!!! See y'all in May :D

message 14: by Marilyn (new)

Marilyn Lott | 544 comments Wonderful news! We may be taking a trip ourselves about then, but we'll be gone only a Sunday through a Wednesday, so it will probably work out.

We'll think of a restaurant with outside dining--we will still be wearing masks and social distancing even though I, too, have now received both doses of vaccine!

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 734 comments I'll send y'all (Diana S & Marilyn) an email so we can work out the details.
