I started this morning and can already tell this weekend is going to be all about READING! When I'm not watching the snow fall, that is.

Jackie, this was your pic. We should schedule our Zoom this month around when you can join us, if you think you can!

Michele | 142 comments I just started reading and it got me interested right away. Like Tracy, I see some extra reading time this weekend!!

Just got it from the libary and read a few pages this morning. I think I will enjoy this one. We had several honeybee hives when I was a kid, in our fruit orchard of 20 apple, plum, cherry and peach trees. I have fond memories of gathering swarms as a kid. Such an amazing phenomenon.

Michele | 142 comments The thing I am relating to the most right now, in the first couple chapters, is the Mom. There is a lot of similarities to my own childhood and my own Mom in the story so far.

Michele | 142 comments And Jackie - like Tracy said - you should join the next zoom! It will be fun to see you!!

I'm having mixed feelings on the book so far. I love learning about bees and beekeeping. I just finished the Bring Grandpa to School chapter and loved that story!

Chris, if you liked Educated you might really like The Sound of Gravel.

Jackie | 231 comments I'm so excited to hear everyone's early, good reviews. I have about 100 pgs left in the book I'm reading before I start.
Embarassingly I was totally free, on purpose, for the Tender Land meeting and then I putzed around the house all day thinking "I'm supposed to be doing something" it wasnt until after dinner when I remembered and I was super bummed.
I promise I will make this next one!!

Jackie | 231 comments There was maybe three pages where I wasn't bawling

Is there a Zoom discussion scheduled for Honey Bus? I can't believe how quickly February went by!

Tracy Wendt (wendtastic) | 665 comments Mod
I was just realizing that, Sam. does anyone have time to Zoom this weekend? jackie?!!

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm headed to the San Juan islands to celebrate my sweetie turning 65! Can't believe it. So I can't this weekend, but could next weekend.

I'm really looking forward to next months read The Radium Girls.

Jackie | 231 comments This weekend is perfect for me but I could also make next work.

something just came up for me on Sat morning. should I move to Sunday or make one of you an admin so you can just do the call Sat without me?

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

I can't do Sunday but can skip if that works for everyone else.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Have to have Tracy! And the more I thought about the book, the more it irritated me. So might not want my rants on a week-end morning... :-)

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Have we settled on Saturday or Sunday? Go ahead and do Sunday at 9 am Pacific if that's what works for everyone,. I just don't do Zoom calls at 9 am on a Sunday. I lay in bed with coffee, read the paper and walk my dog. I could do 11 am Pacific on Sunday.

Tracy Wendt (wendtastic) | 665 comments Mod
So that's noon Montana time / 11 am Pacific on Sunday...does that work for others??

Tracy Wendt (wendtastic) | 665 comments Mod
hey all. I can keep Sat at 10 if that still works. I'm quarantined until I find out if I was exposed to COVID, so I had to opt out of my other plans that came up.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Still works for me!

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I can set up a Zoom call for tomorrow at 11 am MT, 10 am Pacific if that works for folks.

Tracy Wendt (wendtastic) | 665 comments Mod
we are all set for Saturday at 10. Zoom info is shared earlier in this thread.
