Main characters are definitely important in books, but side characters can add a lot to make a book interesting! What do you love seeing in side-characters? Or what do you dislike seeing?Comment below!

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 106 comments I love side characters that are pure hearted and/or funny like Alice Cullen or Fred and George Weasley. Side characters often make a story for me and without interesting ones, a story can often be pretty dull

Agreed, side characters can add a lot to a book. Sometimes they’re the reason readers enjoy a book more!

I don’t like side-characters there just to serve some purpose, like being the ‘comic relief’ or ‘the one who will die’. I like side- characters who have they’re own life apart from the mc, or they should have they’re own motives for sticking around with the mc.

Fred and George from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone series are some side-characters I really enjoyed reading about!

Yes! A lot of people see them as comic reliefs which they were, but they are much more.
