Seventeen-year-old Darcy Covington never had to worry about money or where her next shopping spree was coming from. Even her dog ate gourmet. Then one day, Darcy’s car is repossessed from the parking lot of her elite private school. As her father’s business hit the skids, Dad didn’t just skip town, he bailed on his family.

Fortunately, Darcy’s uncle owns a thrift shop where she can hide out from the world. There’s also Lucas, the wickedly hot fix-it guy she can’t stop crushing on, even if she’s not sure they’ll ever get out of the friend zone.

But it’s here among the colorful characters of her uncle’s world that Darcy begins to see something more in herself...if she has the courage to follow it.

Chapter 3 - Kind of bored already.

Read up to 70% last night while my interenet was off again (Damn thing!) and it's got a little bit better, but i'm still not really liking it. Just want to get it done with now.

It's pretty dull. same out 'we've got no money/does he like me?' over and over again.

yep, this felt so much longer than it was...

Yeah I have to agree.

(view spoiler)[Such a long book! I preferred The Host because it had way more substance. This one I was annoyed with the main character and I agree Sarah it went back and forth between her crush and money issues. I just didn't feel anything for her although finally towards the second/third half I warmed a little up to the character's situation although the romance was still very iffy with me. That whole Lancelot routine/narration was annoying. The writing could have been better as a whole. 2.5 stars (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[It was annoying how obviously Lucas liked her and she played the I'm not as beautiful as the other girl part. I mean a little insecurity is part of life but it was just too much especially since she was getting in her own way (hide spoiler)]
