Do you like to reread books? If yes, why and which books have you reread?
If not, why?
Which is the one book you can absolutely reread anytime?
What are some of your favorite rereads?
What do you discover new while rereading a book?

Austin George | 471 comments I don't like to reread books, unless it's a book I read 15 years ago and I no longer remember the story. So far I haven't reread any books but plan to do so in future.

Dreamer I LOVE rereading books! I can't understand how some people don't do that. There is no book that I haven't read at least 2 times. Every time I realise important things I hadn't noticed and also see events from a different approach. The book I have reread the most is The Phantom of the Opera. I have actually read it 13 times, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of it. Of course this is because it is an old book. For example, I have read A Game of Thrones only 4 times, but this is bacause I first read it in 2019. Some of my favourite books, that I love rereading are: Every Day, The Phantom of the Opera, Wuthering Heights, A Storm of Swords,Foucault's Pendulum and And Then There Were None.

Maitha (imaithany) | 11 comments I never reread a book because there are millions of books out there that I can explore. I do keep quotes from the books I really liked (could be pages lol) that I would read later on, but going through a book all over again is not something I would do.

Erica | 1309 comments I love to reread. What's the point of having a bookshelf with actual books if you only read them once? That's the test for keeping books when I have limited shelf space. Will I want to read this again? If yes then I can keep it. I like to reread series before a new book comes out. I agree that there are so many good books out there but rereads are comforting and known to be worth your time.
I'm currently rereading House of Earth and Blood and I'm amazed at how much I have forgotten.

Anyway there are too many favourites that I reread to list for you.

toointofiction | 186 comments I love rereading books that made a real impact on me. I don't often reread an entire book, I mostly prefer to revisit part of the book I liked the most, over and over. It's like reminding myself of the emotions I felt during the first time I ever read the book. Some of the books I read most often are: Throne of Glass series, A Court of Thorns and Roses series, House of Earth and Blood, Vampire Academy/Bloodlines series, The Folk of the Air series, Blood and Ash series and The Priory of the Orange Tree, and many more.

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 945 comments I don't like to reread books very often. I have this weird mental block thing where whenever I try to reread a book or rewatch a movie, this mental block comes up and I just can't get myself to do it. I've only really successfully been able to reread Harry Potter before.

Anie Gpn (aniegpn) | 2 comments Most of Chetan Bhagat Books and RK Narayan books have been reread by me. Chetan Bhagat created a spark that young generation began to read books again and reading became a regular habit for many. RK Narayan books are based on the common man's life in a fictional town called Malgudi.

Luna (luna13) I hardly ever re-read with the exception of HP which I read random chapters every other week when I get bored with a book.

Megan | 54 comments I haven’t reread any so far, I think it’s because nothing can really compare to the first time you experience a book in my opinion it’s just magical, and I’m not sure I’d enjoy the experience as much the second time, if that makes sense? I’m the same way with tv shows too!

message 11: by stu (new)

stu (blobmustardsprinkles) | 505 comments I re-read books when I’m in a reading slump most likely! Otherwise, it depends on my mood, cause sometimes if I really liked the book, I just want to relieve it again. Most of the time it’s nice!, other times it’s, ehhh (bad experience on my last re-read! But re-reading books is still good)

message 12: by Maddy (new)

Maddy So I don’t really like rereading books because I’ve already spent so much time reading the book once and fighting out the plot and story. I can’t reread a book because I already know what happens and it just doesn’t feel the same and excite me.

message 13: by Ana (new)

Ana Paes I don't like to reread books because I have way to many in my TBR, but last year I reread The Selection and the other 2 books of the serie. I just reread if I don't remember the plot or if I want to read in other language, otherwise I prefer read new books.

message 14: by Ipsa (new)

Ipsa (_ipsa_) I love rereading books. I feel like something changes everytime I reread one, maybe it's me who has changed and my point of view, but that changes the perception of the book. Also, it's like there is something new to be found everytime i reread a book. I have reread a lot of books, I've reread my favourites as many as 12-13 times! And i plan on keeping it up!:)

message 15: by Unknown (new)

Unknown Reader | 180 comments I reread books when I have just finished a book and don’t feel like reading a new book. It’s just weirdly calming and comforting to reread my favorite books, also sometimes I reread books when I’m feeling particularly down and unmotivated. Even if you already know the story , it still feels nice to relive those favorite moments again.
