I think I might follow Val's free space choice, too!
I'm bad at names as well, and feeling extremely uninspired...
Dozen
Dasu (Japan-based me, that's local-lingo for a dozen)....we could string together dozen in all our favorite/spoken languages?
Back to the drawing board....

Name suggestions: 2012, 12 inches of pages, team name pending, zodiac readers, cheaper by the dozen, dirty dozen.....

Dozen
Douze (Number 12 in French)
Douzaine (Dozen in French)
Twelve Monkeys
Twelve Tasmanian Devils

Thoughts:
Ms. Frost is in my top 10 list of favorite authors...and I "saved" up some of their new books as my "reward" for getting through the work craziness that always occurs at this time of year. BSB starting was a bonus...
Anyway, this book did not disappoint. I was wondering if I should re-read the previous books before diving in, but quickly remembered relevant things, and was caught up in the story too much to mind the other bits. (Also going for no spoilers...)
Veritas & Ian...but Ian is at risk of dying, she makes a deal to save him, and the rollercoaster ride is ON. Other favorite characters make cameos/appearances as they deal with escalating crises. It was rather fun to see how they would get out of the next one, and what tricks they had up their sleeves.
I hope to see more from the Night Huntress world. While I wait, I'll enjoy reading the books again.

I'm a fan of the Kate Daniel serires so I jumped at the opportunity to revisit this world....and I was fortunate to not know it came as a serial before it was published. I was living under a rock but that's ok, I did not have to wait a week for the next chapter.
I don't know how this duo of authors do it but in a few sentences they create a comfortable, rich, vibrant world of magic and tech. The description just flows like water and I'm sucked into Atlanta post Shift.
I want more Julie and Derek!

I'm a fan of the BDB series but lately I have been falling behind on my reading. Maybe it's because the series has gone on long enough and running out of steam or I'm at a different place in my life. This obsession of cramming all the previous characters into the story reduces them to unnecessary emphasis ( I do not need to see Rhage again because he had 2 books already).
It's a christmas holiday novel so blessings and second chances at love is the theme. I feel that this book is a fan service to those that felt cheated for Trez. I did not like this character from the previous books and feel that he was never redeemed enough in my mind to warrant a lifemate again.
All in all, it was a story as to be expected with little surprise. A feel good book to pass the time.

The Empire is defeated...but there are still a few loyal families clinging to their former greatness. They are fighting back with underhanded measures and tactics. Even the all mighty Tarak can not predict every moves they make.
I have waited for Ikriss 's story, former High Commander of the Kordolian Imperial Military, for some time. I had a riot when he gave Sienna his resume...on a sheet of actual paper!
There was a bit of drag in the story but I still loved it and can't wait for more.

I'm very, very much an Ilona Andrews fan...love their books, their blog, all of it. But, I tend to wait for the published books rather than read the serials online. I DID read one scene of this online (at the bridge) months ago, and had been careful to avoid it because I.do.not.like.to.wait. Hmm.
So, thrilled to have the book. Loved it start to finish. There were times I just felt in awe of their (IA's) imagination and wit.
Julie and Derek were great. I loved the secret that really wasn't so much, and the foreshadowing of more dire things to come (Sienna's query...)
And now I have to wait again...

Thoughts:
For years, I heard people rave about Eve and Roarke, but I was like...nah, Kate & Curran...Cat & Bones. Then I got a library card to a library overseas, with ENGLISH books. As I no longer had to purchase every book I read, I thought, why not? And started the series...maybe it numbered in the 30s or so? Well, I get the Eve & Roarke vibe now.
And...Eve & Roarke are the incredible team they always are. Fresh off tracking an assassin with an eye on Roarke, Eve catches another case. It looks like a fairly simple homicide, but turns out to be much, much more.
It was an exciting and fun read, with a satisfying end. I'm looking forward to the next...(I was checking name spelling as my PC insists that Roarke with an E is NOT correct, and saw Forgotten In Death is next...publication expected in September 2021).

I know which book I really, really want to read next...(well, there are about 3 or 4, but the one that the library will steal back is on top of the list...) just hoping Mr. R comes through.
Looking forward to some stamps soon, too! (Hints, not pressure! Hope everyone is doing well in the day-to-day, too!)

Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn
DATE FINISHED: 030521, 4 stars
REVIEW:
New author for me. I enjoyed this book. It was a different take on the wolf pack. I thought Kitty's alphas were completely useless and did not take care of or protect their pack members, at least not Kitty. At the start Kitty is very dependent on and afraid of her alpha Carl and she is treated liked a poor helpless baby. They don't teach her how to defend herself or hunt and take her money. When her job as a radio dj turns into an advice show for other supernaturals we see her grow in confidence and start to stand up for herself. This book had good writing, good characters, suspense and plenty of drama. Can't wait to see what Kitty gets into in the next book.
