Minaeliza (minaelia) | 6 comments Our protagonist is the chief’s daughter who has like a pet bear? Or maybe kills a bear but either way she wears the bear claws. She finds a boy but doesn’t kill him. She is curious about the other race. It is a short book. The cover is like beige and the hardcover was printed in a standing rectangle shape. Read possibly in the late 2000s or early 2010s.

Minamae, what's the genre (which we need to add to the header/topic title) - e.g., For adults or teens? Post-apocalyptic/dystopia, fantasy, romance?

Link for Heather's suggestion - Tribe of Daughters by Kate L. Mary

I'm not really sure actually what the genre is other than fiction. I read it as a young teen and did feel like I was the target audience? So maybe it is YA. I can't remember if it is post-apocalyptic or just set in a different world. I'm sorry this is so vague! I am going to check out Heather's suggestion... from the description in the link it sounds very likely but I'm not completely sure since I definitely read it before 2018 which is the publication date for Tribe of Daughters.

Minaeliza (minaelia) | 6 comments I found it! It is The Foretelling by Alice Hoffman. It is similar to Heather's suggestion so that was a great guess! Thank you both for commenting.
