I have tried Jane Austen in the past and I couldn't get into it at all. However, I am going to read this with audio and print version simultaneously and hope to fall in love with Jane.

I've only read Pride and prejudice of hers, but am really interested to read some others to see what I think. I'm hoping to read Emma sometime this year

Ella Ferris (eferris) I read Emma last month, it was amazing!

Ooh! Lately I've been thinking I want to read this!! Perfect! 😄
Ann, I'm with you, I have never been able to get into Jane Austen, everyone I tried literally put me to sleep! But a little while ago I read Emma via audio book and actually enjoyed it! I hear that one isn't her best and I didn't particularly love it but it showed me that I can actually like Jane Austen. 😆 I LOVE the Pride and Prejudice movie so I think this book is going to be really good!! 😄

Queen V™ I just finished this a couple days ago

What is it about Jane Austen that I can't get into it? I have the audio and am about 25% through, but I am going to grab a print copy to follow along. And start over. LOL!! I really want to like her as everyone LOVES her writing.

Elisabeth aka Elsie(Taylor's version) | 132 comments I’m already halfway through it and it’s a little boring for me but except that, I think I’m liking it.

Willow Anne | 78 comments I've finally gotten around to starting this and I'm loving it so far! My only problem is that I love the 2005 movie, and I've watched it so many times that when I'm reading the book I can't help but see the characters as the actors from the movie lol

Willow Anne | 78 comments But I love the witty conversations between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth, and the writing is so well done, it's just so easy to get into the story

Elisabeth aka Elsie(Taylor's version) | 132 comments Ah I’m glad u like it, and yes, mr. Darcy and Elizabeth are rlly fun and cute.

Elisabeth aka Elsie(Taylor's version) | 132 comments I still haven’t watched the movie but I rlly want to.

Willow Anne | 78 comments The movie is so well done! Its one of my all time favorite movies

Nope, couldn't do it. I love classics but I just can't get into Jane Austen's novel. I wanted so much to love this, because everyone raves about Jane Austen, but I am done at 33%. Maybe I will just watch the movies... I am going to try a short story of hers and see if it is any better for me... on to Lady Susan.

😂😂 Yeah, I can sympathize with you, Ann. I didn't even try to read this this month because I wasn't in the mood for it and if I want the slight chance that I may enjoy it, I had better wait until I'm in the mood. 😂 I have seen the P&P movie and, oh my!! It's amazing!! 😍 We watch the one with Keira Knightly and I love it so, so much!! The only downfall is the actors tend to mumble a bit so it's a little hard to understand them but hang in there because it's a wonderful movie!!

Elisabeth aka Elsie(Taylor's version) | 132 comments Ah I watched the movie yesterday and I agree that it’s amazing. Except the actor of mr. Darcy, I just don’t like him but it’s always like that when I read the book first, I always don’t like it when characters aren’t exactly the way I imagined them to be.
