Brooke W (thereadersgame) ARCs are Advanced Reader Copies! Authors/publishers use them to spread the word about their books before they come out! This is a spot to talk about advice for getting ARCs, upcoming ARCs/anticipated releases, etc...

ꪑꪖᦔꫀꪶ꠸ꪀꫀ | 347 comments Thinking about emailing a publisher is one of the most horrifying things ever, why must it give me so much anxiety ahkjsbjlbalj :')

Wait can you request ARCs?

message 4: by Brooke (new)

Brooke W (thereadersgame) @Queen Pluto

What do you mean? You can email publishers for arcs! You give your name, whatever platform(s) you post on, and why you are requesting it!

Here is one I sent to a publisher!

Hello!
I am requesting an advanced reader copy of A Psalm of Storms and Silence by Rosanne A. Brown.

My GoodReads:
https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1...

My review of A Song of Wraiths and Ruin: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

My book blog:

Thank you for considering me!

-Brooke

Brooke W (thereadersgame) It is!

You can also sign up for NetGalley, Edelweiss, and BookSirens!

I'm about to leave so if you have any questions I will come back and answer them tomorrow :)

I should really leave *cry-laughing*

Some publishers/authors will contact you asking if you will read and review their book! I have gotten two PM's asking me to read and review their work!

Byeee!

you should also include your stats on those platforms (ex: 100 blog followers, 234 goodreads friends and followers), add your netgalley/edelweiss email or address if you're asking for a physical ARC, isbn and release date of the book, and why you're requesting it!

i know it's a lot but i actually have better luck emailing publishers directly :')

Ally (alliereads33) Hey guys! I was wondering if any of you had any advice about writing reviews for books or about getting Arcs. I'm still new so I'm not really good at writing reviews and I've been wanting to get some Arcs but I have no idea where to start.

NetGalley is a good place to start getting ARCs if you like reading eBooks. I've been approved for a bunch of ARCs on there

Is there anywhere you can get physical books or is it mainly just if you win giveaways and other things like that?

:D o y i n :D (CURRENTLY OBSESSED WITH AOT iykyk) | 987 comments How do you request an ARC

ꪑꪖᦔꫀꪶ꠸ꪀꫀ | 347 comments You email the publisher who is publishing the book you are interested in and ask them for one. Do you want the format I use when requesting arcs?

message 24: by sonya (new)

sonya | 72 comments How do you find the email of the publisher?

ꪑꪖᦔꫀꪶ꠸ꪀꫀ | 347 comments You look up the publishing company and look around their website until you find a specific publishers email (typically the on whose helping with the publishing of the book) or you can look for a part that says "media inquiries" or "review copies" and those typically have emails you can message or forms to fill out. If you happen to email the wrong person they will diret you to the right one!

sonya | 72 comments Okay, thanks! Good to know.
