Guy Morris (guymorris) | 74 comments I am currently working on a sequel to my first book SWARM, tentatively entitled; Second Scroll. Inspired by a true story of a program that escaped NSA spy labs and never recaptured.

Without spoiler alerts Second Scroll will take the reader from a renovated prison in Quebec, to D.C., to London, the Kremlin, Greenland, Riyadh Arabia, the Vatican, Qumran, Axum, a 1500 year old monastery, and Jerusalem.

The series is based roughly 12-18 months into the future of a pandemic plagued economy, escalating cyber espionage and warfare, social and political unrest. An experimental AI that escaped government labs has creating an underground espionage network called SNO (spy net online) with millions of human members from all walks of life, only a few of whom know SLVIA as a program. That program has decoded end time prophecies and connects to modern alliances, and events to prevent a premature Armageddon.

The SWARM adventure spans four continents while Second Scroll covering a number of ancient and modern sites. Every book in the series will features an AI or technical threat played out between nation states, a thread of corruption of political and religious leaders with social unrest, and a correlation to the Seven Seals of Revelation.

The main character is a sardonic orphaned hacker (flapjack) who went underground using the name of his best friend who was assassinated by mistake in his place. Investigating him is the ambitious daughter of a Joint Chief Admiral, assigned to destroy the missing AI and the SNO, but the more she learns, the greater her internal conflict.

Written to closely map contemporary events with factual references to weapons, AI, issues, trends and news to feel real, the reader will unpeel the layers of personal transformation, tech threat, human hubris, deception and conspiracies. A page turner.

I am currently writing a sequel to one of my previous novels, a mix of sci-fi, fantasy and alternate history story to be titled ANGEL GIRL, a sequel to RAISING NANCY. I already have 322 pages written and I will probably get to or close to 400 pages before I finish it, sometimes in April-May 2021.

ANGEL GIRL will be about the daughter of my current main heroin in that series, Ingrid Dows, who is commander of all American forces in 1996 'C' (an alternate, parallel history to ours). While Ingrid Dows possess some supernatural powers, her daughter Nancy is even more special, as her father was an archangel. Nancy is thus half-Human and half-Celestial, making her very special indeed. However, her big love is music, not some pursuit of celestial domination on Humans and she is trying her best to live like a normal human being. ANGEL GIRL will be the tenth novel in my 'Nancy Laplante Series'.

I am currently writing a space sci-fi novel titled MIGHTY NOSTROMO, a sequel to my previous WAR AMONG THE STARS and the future fifth ebook of my KOSTROMA Series, featuring the adventures of Tina Forster, the captain of the giant space cargo ship KOSTROMA, in the early 24th Century. Tina Forster is a young, highly-competent ship captain with a big heart and lots of courage and character who strives to both develop the expansion of Humanity among the stars and to help the downtrodden and the refugees on Earth by offering them a new home on a world she owns and administers.

Peter Topside I'm working on the third and final book in my Preternatural trilogy, but have also recently started tossing some random ideas around. Nothing in writing yet, but just some thoughts. Waiting for that inspiration to make me want to go further with one of them.

Dale Lehman (dalelehman) | 207 comments I usually have several irons in the fire. At the moment:

1. I've finished the "first draft" of A Day for Bones (Howard County Mysteries #4). It's currently resting prior to revisions.

2. I'm at work on a post-apocalyptic SF novel titled Penitence which (curiously) is about the aftermath of a pandemic, but I swear it has nothing to do with COVID. It's an expansion of a short story I wrote something like 20 years ago. For probably ten years I've wanted to expand it into a novel, and I just happened to start it right before COVID hit.

3. My second Bernard and Melody caper (the sequel to Weasel Words) is in planning. It will be titled Rooftop Sonata.

4. I've just published the first 5 episodes of The Belt, an SF serial available through Kindle Vella (see https://www.amazon.com/kindle-vella/s...).

Christen Notrelle | 2 comments I'm almost finished the sequel to my novel Tether. It's called Wired.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C3C4139

I had trouble knowing which genre/s or sub-genres to put them in. They don't exactly fit any particular genre. I think this may work against me. Any help would be appreciated.

It's part science fiction (it has a bit of biotech in there) and part crime. The main character is a psychopath who has a chip implanted in her brain to help with creating the "normal" neural connections necessary to behave in a socially-acceptable way. She takes down other criminals with the help of her family and some friends. Her sister has a chip that is tethered to hers as a warning as she glitches and returns to her natural state.

J.C. Berry | 8 comments Working on book 2 of 3 in my Flesh & Blood series. Published The Flesh Auction (book 1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Flesh-Auctio...) this year.

I write from three different character POVs and have found a complete switch in which ones are easier to write this time around. In book 1, I found Delen and Kilian easiest, Quin the most difficult. This time Quin is the easiest followed by Delen and then Kilian is proving the most difficult. I have also added in a couple new POVs as they were needed. With Kilian I think he is in a dark place and seeming to give up the fight, whereas Quin hasn't given up on the fight, just like Delen. I still find Delen my favourite to write, as a character she really takes charge on the page and tells me how we are getting from A to B.
