YA Lit geared toward young adults, or high school students. This typically ranges from 9th–12th grade, or 14–18 years of age.
YA Lit also consists of characters who are high school aged.
In the case of a book or series that crosses genre lines, sort it with the higher bracket. For example, the Harry Potter series can be both MG and YA. It should be sorted under the YA folder.
