Michael Clarke (michaelsclarke) | 1 comments Hi, I've self-published a scifi novel called MetaSentient Expanded Edition on KDP, and have been through a few rounds of self edits and, after a year of beta reader feedback, released a new version. It is the tale of a couple, Carlos and Rhonda, who create a startup company with the intention of uploading minds to survive the upcoming AI apocalypse where artificial intelligence systems in the military take over the country. Once they think they are safe, they then realize that aliens have led humanity to this state, and they want to enslave us. The adventure is in the escape. The next novel deals with them then travelling across the universe in faster than light ships to track down these aliens to make sure they don't come back. This first novel is 90k words, and I have a streamlined version of 70k words that I am considering as well.

I'd like an editor to give the first novel a read and let me know what soft of work is needed before I put in front of reviewers. It doesn't have to be the nitty gritty detail of the actual editing, but more of a high level analysis on plot, characters, exposition, and also notes of issues like "you need a proofreader", or “your writing is still too sticky”.

I'd be happy to post reviews for the free or inexpensive services. (I also sent an email since this thread seems to have become very active.)

It sounds like you need a developmental editor to help you. I would be willing to offer help and will, because I can't help myself, do some line editing and proofreading as well.
