Ben Field (bungalow) | 12 comments I've never really got into horror, etc and would like to give it another try. I've tried Stephen King, Dean Koontz and James Herbert and they just didn't quite work for me. I'm thinking that something in relation to ghosts, atmospheric, tense build up will grab me and keep me wanting to read on.

Any recommendations of specific books would be welcomed, don't mind author recommendations but sometimes its hard to find the good ones amongst all of their catalogue.

If you think something else might be worth a try then feel free to comment.

Thanks

Ben

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 846 comments Immortality: This Is Probably a Novel is not a classic ghost story so not formulaic. It might be worth your while taking a careful look at the blurb/reviews to see if it's right for you. Just don't fall asleep on the sofa while you're reading it in case it's happening to you.

I forgot to say, I'm the author and I am not looking for a review (I really mean that). This is just because you asked, perhaps, for something different and it's 99p for the next few days.

Thanks Anna, nice piece of self advertising, but I'm up for trying anything, where can it be bought from?

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 846 comments Hi Ben, it's for sale on Amazon, or to save you searching, just click the link above which takes you to the Goodreads page and then there's a link on there to take you direct to the book.

Whatever you choose, I hope you find something you like a lot.

Hi Ben, I have two suggestions for you: Susan Hill's 'The Woman in Black' and 'Dark Matter' by Michelle Paver - both very good.
