It's time to begin nominations for May. The book with the most votes will be May's book of the month and the one with the second most votes will be a group buddy read. I look forward to your suggestions!

Just a friendly reminder that it's always a good idea to look over the guidelines if you've never nominated before.

Feel free to nominate any Christian fiction book of your choosing. Do consider nominating an author that we've not read lately or at least in 2020 or so far in 2021. Please follow the guidelines below and also make sure to nominate a book that released AT LEAST three months ago.

PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES:
-Please do not nominate a book we've already read as a group in the last three years. You will be asked for a different nomination if you do. Find our shelves here:

2021: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2020: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2019: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2018: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

-Remember that a book must be out for 3 months or more to be eligible for nominations and voting

-Any author is up for nomination, as long as the book you nominate has not been a group read during 2018-2020, however, try not to nominate an author that we've read this year already.

-If it is a book in a series that is not the first book, make sure you know that it can be read as a standalone and doesn't require the previous books being read to understand and enjoy.

-Please note that there may be more reasons that a book is not a good fit for nominations or group members as a whole, whether it be availability, cost, accessibility, etc. The moderators reserve the right to make these decisions. Please know we do our best in making these kinds of decisions, and we're all human. Your patience is appreciated. Thank you for your understanding! :)

Nominations will be open through noon CST on March 15.

Loraine (librarydiva) | 4436 comments We did Paper Hearts as a group read once before, but I am not sure of the year. I remember because it was set in Loveland Colorado where I was living.

It looks like Paper Hearts was done in February 2016. How is it even possible that it's been 5 years already? Wow!

Thanks Loraine and Kate! It has been long enough that we can consider again. I agree it's a good choice! We last had a Courtney Walsh book in July 2020 so that's long enough ago as well.

If for Any Reason (Nantucket Love Story #1) by Courtney Walsh

Keep the nominations coming!

No tie breaker needed this month!

Our May Book of the Month will be:
The Number of Love (The Codebreakers, #1) by Roseanna M. White

The Group Buddy Read is:
Waves of Mercy (Waves of Mercy, #1) by Lynn Austin

I enjoyed both of them. Happy reading all!

Sarita | 2287 comments I have access to both, so will see if I can join both :-)

Both good books! I will definitely join in on the discussion for 'Number', and perhaps the buddy read as well. 🙂

Ashley | 6 comments Looking forward to these reads for May!

message 21: by Karin (new)

Karin | 44 comments I have put a hold on Number of Love. I'm not that big on romance, but I do have an interest in women code breakers. Sure, there is a mystery as well, but it's clearly a romance, which of course is the most popular fiction genre. :)

Annie | 43 comments I really want to read Number of Love!
