I am reading the last book of this big fantasy trilogy, which I’m loving but I have been intentionally pacing myself because it’s great and I don’t want it to end! I realized that I’m also slowing down my reading challenge progress, so I am gonna suck it up and finish the book!

Anybody find any tricks for getting more reading in? I started reading first thing in the morning when I have my coffee. Before I check the news or anything else on my phone. It helps me focus and also even 15-20 mins a day makes a huge difference in progress! Afterwards I open Goodreads to update my progress and that’s when I catch up.

It does seem like many of you are in your early 20s and in school, which really is a tough time to fit your personal reading in to your schedule. I’m in my 30s now and I am in school again, but my sleep schedule and everything else are different now and it’s been easier to work reading into my daily schedule!

Everyone can do that, I just wanted to point out that some of you are going through a really busy time in life so just because you are struggling to fit it in now, doesn’t mean you are no longer a lover of books and reading!

Brandy R | 9 comments I’m 38 and work at a school ( well, from my home right now) and have 2 kids. My nook selections are all over the place because of what I read with students, my own kids, for my pleasure, and for learning. I’ve been in a reading slump for sure but getting back into it. What has been helping me, since weather has been nice lately, is going outside and reading with my chickens around me. Lol It helps because I don’t have TV or as many other distractions where I might sit and say, “But first I’ll do the laundry/dishes/clean up/watch tv/play a video game...”
