MountainKat | 31593 comments Information required when posting your completion/s:

Task
Book/cover link
Page numbers with source
How book qualified, with links or cover as necessary.
Date Completed.
Rating/Review.

**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

MountainKat | 31593 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 5, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

I'm actually use to it. I had another Laura in my classes most of elementary school.

Sally906 | 878 comments I’ve never Captained before - but as there is no deadline other than we just post as we complete a task I am willing to nervously step up and do that.

My take is we are given a task which we complete together then I post a link to our thread (I do a post which has what we all did to contribute to the task and link to that) and then we are assigned a new task.

Is that it in a nutshell?

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Also, one thing that's super helpful is to go through some of the prompts and discuss now so when we get one of those, we don't have to take the time to ask each other and can get through things faster. In a bit, I'll pull from the list of the ones I think we could plan ahead of time :)

With tasks like 47. Read 6 books set in a major city - do we have to pick the same major city or can it be 6 different major cities?

Also

#64. Read 6 books not set on a continent of a teammate. Space does not count - must be a real continent.

North America, Australia and Europe are ruled out which leaves Asia, Africa, South America and Antarctica - but we can each read for different continents - I’m pretty good with African settings and Asia no good at all with South American

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Here are the answers from me and Louise for last round!

53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.

Louise: Bangor, North Wales
Stacie: College Park, MD or Poolesville, MD

55. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country. England is pretty much always my choice here because it's the next easiest for me besides US

58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate
Louise and I both joined in 2017, Laura just joined in 2021

72. Read 4 books published in the decade of a teammate's birth, team decides which teammate.
Louise and I were both born in 1978

74. Read 6 books published in a teammates' birth month, you may not use your own month September

79. Read 6 books that have the same romance trope, teams decide which trope.

82. Each teammate reads a different book from the same series

91. Add up the years of the teammates' births and each teammate reads a book with that minimum number of pages. For example, teammates were born in 75, 83, 87 and 94 - each teammate reads a book at least 339 pages long. No pass for this task.
Louise and are both 78

93. As a team, pick a Romance List from GR Listopia with less than 100 books on it, each teammate reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.

These I found last time and had less than 100 as of September 2020, I didn't check again

I think the one that worries me are the read a book set in home towns - none of us live in easy major cities - we all live in normal places 😂😂

message 34: by Louise (new)

Louise | 1131 comments Just gone hunting, we had this task last time and it was fairly flexible

Select a teammate and everyone reads a book set in their hometown. You can use the state if within the US or the country outside of the US. Remember to let me know how you know the book qualifies - from the book details, in the title, series, from the precis, tags or lists. I need to know where to look to confirm your books. Include any info and links as necessary. Please include the teammate and their hometown in your completion posts.

94, 95, 96, 79, 88, 90 - I think if we get that task, then decide then, based on what else everyone is committed to reading at that time!

92 - I would probably vote past.

82 - Also decide when we get to it. But I think we've all read Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls books, right? And we all read Black Dagger Brotherhood?

29 - Does athlete count as a profession? Or would we need a specific sport? Military professional would also work for all of us, I think, right?

Book: Lilliana Jones and the Temple of Groom by Rich Amooi Lilliana Jones and the Temple of Groom by Rich Amooi
Page numbers with source: 216 pp
How it qualifies: Has a primarily green cover
Date read: 16/03/21
Rating/Review: 4★s - a bit of a silly read, but perfect for a wet miserable housebound day. Lilliana doesn’t believe in fortune tellers yet here she is in Italy hoping to meet her husband after being told that’s where she’d find him. But the man she meets drives her crazy - surely he is not the husband fate has selected.

3/3.5 stars? I'm on the fence. It was one of those books that has a darker subject matter so I always feel weird liking them. All of the characters were horrible people but I did really like the lengths one of the MCs went to to protect her marriage. I would not mess with her. This author has a twisted mind and I kind of like it.

Review
This was a fun quick cozy mystery which had me chuckling as I listened to it in work. Cookie and Dylan discover a body whilst out fishing which involves calling in the FBI in the form of Hunter. Whilst trying to identify the murderer Cookie is involved in a sort of love triangle with Dylan and Hunter, with her efforts to resolve it being thwarted by the shenanigans of her mother and best friend. All in all a good light hearted series.
