Surya (bigolscrewup) Do we set a page limit or a chapter limit ?

message 2: by :) (new)

:) would you all mind if we start tomorrow? i just have to finish up the book in reading right now.

message 3: by :) (new)

:) i definitely think we should do chapter limits , because people might have different editions

Sure, any time tomorrow and if you want us all to follow a page limit or chapter limit, drop a comment

message 5: by :) (new)

:) yeah. chapter limits might be best, i don’t have my copy with me right now but 1-4 chapters a day (depending on how long they are), sounds perfect.

message 6: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) This book got really short chapters, so I think we need to set percentage of completion or page limit

message 7: by :) (last edited Mar 08, 2021 07:10AM) (new)

:) how fast do you all read? maybe we can try to read 20% of the book each day, or something of the sort.

message 8: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) it got like 99 chapters 😨

I can do that, but it would be like twenty chapters per day

message 10: by :) (new)

:) i would rather not do page limits, as i have the Book Of The Month subscription edition and i dont want to have to stop in the middle of a chapter or accidentally spoil stuff because our pages don’t align.

chapter limit would be best, and we can roughly estimate how many chapters equals 20% (or however much we decide to read.)

would you all be okay with that?

message 11: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) It's fine with me. We would be reading 80+ pages everyday and I am excited to start it. It's been in the shelf for too long 😅

message 12: by :) (new)

:) yes!! we’ll start tomorrow :)

message 13: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) 👍

message 14: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) 😂😂😂😂

Are you reading multiple books right now ?

message 16: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) Yeah, it's perfect for discussing it afterwards

message 17: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) You're cool with it right ?

message 18: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) Okay, I just didn't want to impose 😊

Surya (bigolscrewup) ✧rebel_poet✧ wrote: "I always read large books. A well-read woman is a dangerous creature:)"

Well said 👏

message 20: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) We can start tomorrow and if you want to start now, just don't discuss about the chapters other people haven't read by then

message 21: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) Also if it's possible, try adding spoiler tags everyone when discussing important parts in the story, we don't want to spoil the story for someone who just stumbles across this thread.

message 22: by :) (new)

:) starting tomorrow, how do you all feel about reading to part two? in my copy that’s about 90 pages, and it seems like a perfect stopping point for our buddy read!

message 23: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) Yeah, that's better.

message 24: by :) (new)

:) you all ready to start today?

message 25: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) Yeah, I'm excited

message 26: by :) (new)

:) have either of you two made any progress? i’m currently on chapter 3. thoughts so far?

message 27: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) I'm on chapter 15 and the story is haunting me in a way I didn't know it was possible

message 28: by :) (new)

:) i’m 30 pages in, and this writing is just so so gorgeous

message 29: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) Yeah, it's like reading a poetry, especially the parts sets in France in the late 16th century. The reason she makes the deal feel justified even though it's really harsh.

message 30: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) Part 1 This book is really good (view spoiler) Can't wait for the next part

message 31: by :) (new)

:) ahhh sorry i’m very behind you guys. today was very busy 😂😂 i’ll catch up tonight. poet, would you mind putting spoiler tags so i don’t accidentally spoil myself? thanks guys! glad to know you all are enjoying it so far :)

message 32: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) If you were granted that wish, would you guys have accepted it or reject it and live a normal life ?

message 33: by Ella (new)

Ella (ellacujec) | 22 comments I read this book like a week ago and istg it's the best book I've ever read

message 34: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) I'm just on Part II and it already feels refreshing to read a book well written that it lets me immerse myself entirely into the story

message 35: by Surya (new)

Surya (bigolscrewup) Part II (view spoiler)

Slowly, this book is turning into something special for me. Hopefully it gets better with more chapters.

message 36: by Surya (new)

Maple (bookish_maple) I didn't join the buddy read.( I didn't know there was one until know) Im listening to the Audiobook and I just wanted to say that it is beautiful and almost like a piece of art. I predict to rate it 4 stars.
