heyy sorry im late on making this. glitchreadsss aha

kelsie (taylor's version) sorry I didn't see it until you said that on the find a writing buddy one!

have you been writing anything?
also just a heads up I may not be sharing much because I dont feel...comfortable with sharing it all, but I'll share little snippets and maybe the overall idea :)

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

im working on a novel but i havent added anything in a while. some of it's posted on the creative writing section if you want to see and make critiques

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

are you working on anything major?

kelsie (taylor's version) no, not really. just bits and pieces

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

im just terrified that i might have plot holes. i'm not good at spotting them so i probably wouldn't know if i did

kelsie (taylor's version) do you think you could share some of your plot and I'll help look for them?

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

my plot is about a girl named Penelope who has lived on this island her whole life. they are very religious (like a cult) and worship Lord Scelus. Penelope wants to become the next Prophet (the highest position that you can be) and works hard for her goal. she finds out that something is coming soon and it seems very dangerous. she finds these books in a language she's never heard of and sees creepy depictions of her island and Lord Scelus (the cult is planning a massacre) and starts to realize the island isn't all that it seems and needs to escape.

i can add more details if you want but thats kind of what its about

kelsie (taylor's version) that is SO cool!

is there any reason shes lived on this island her whole life, or is it just because that's where she's settled and doesnt want to move?

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

well she's lived there her whole life but the Ascetics (like higher ups) tell the children that serpents live in the water and they are the only body of land that exists. so the people think there's nothing and don't know how to swim. some of the ascetics were also raised to believe this but it obviously is just a lie to keep them from leaving.

kelsie (taylor's version) ah that's so cool!

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

do you have any ideas? they don't have to be full fledged or anything

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

eeee

kelsie (taylor's version) oh my gosh I'm so sorry I didnt see the notification for this

well i did start writing a book about these two sisters and one found out she was omnikinetic and rebelled against her planet

that's the general idea for it
I could have continued but I lost motivation :(

kelsie (taylor's version) I'm also writing a short-ish story on the creative writing section of goodreads!
I can send a link if youd like, no worries if you dont want to read it tho

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

its okay! also that sounds super interesting. you should think about continuing it because that sounds like something i would read!

kelsie (taylor's version) I think I will carry on with it, even if I go slowly, progress is progress, right?

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

mhm. im currently waiting for inspiration to strike me so that i can continue on mine.

kelsie (taylor's version) has inspiration struck?!??!
sorry I dont get notifications on this thread for some odd reason; I'll have to start checking this more regularly

kelsie (taylor's version) by the way, inspiration enveloped my brain the other day!
I'm carrying on with the book I've been trying to write since December!

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

omg yes!!!! inspiration hasn't struck but i will eventually need to stop waiting and just force myself to write haha

im so glad that you've come up with something. if you're ever comfortable sharing anything you write, i'd be happy to see!!

i honestly have been more thinking of going back and changing things. the side romance in my book is cool and all but i'm not an expert in writing love so hopefully i don't write something awful

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

sorry i couldn't reply sooner. i'm still on daily and pretty active during school hours, but lately i haven't been using technology as much after school. it's kinda weird but i'll try to check my messages more often

kelsie (taylor's version) I wonder if theres any websites on writing romance that you could look at? I've chosen to not have any romance in my book at all because 1. I don't have any experience in the matter and 2. I dont feel all that comfortable with it lol

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah that makes sense. romance definitely requires some knowledge to write about it (then again most romances in ya are iNtEnSe and unrealistic haha)

kelsie (taylor's version) that's very true haha

kelsie (taylor's version) I decided to upload the first chapter of my novel to the created section of goodreads!

https://www.goodreads.com/story/show/...

that's the link if you'd like to read it - I thought I should just put it on there rather than putting it both on there and on here :)

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

i wrote some more stuff yesterday!!! i also have come up with some side characters so :)

kelsie (taylor's version) nice! would you like to share an excerpt? I'd love to see it :)

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

A dark braid bounced in the air. I turned in awe as Aiko gracefully danced across the grass, her feet seemingly floating. She flounced into the sky, white dress gliding in the wind. Her feet were precise and quick, shuffling across the sward. Her direction was aimless, wild. She danced through the greenery towards the wood, seemingly unaware of the brush that awaited.

sorry for the late reply. that's just a part that i thought had some pretty description.

kelsie (taylor's version) that is beautiful! I can really picture that scene. well done!!

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

thank you !!

i feel like kind of inspired

not inspired to do anything in particular..just inspired to write, yknow?? im glad that you've started writing, too. it looks really good from what i read

kelsie (taylor's version) oh inspiration is good! did you manage to write anything?
(and thank you so much!)

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

not yesterday because i was really tired but hopefully today :)
ive wanted to skip to the action scenes but then when i get to them it won't feel as exhilarating and just be like "oh...i already wrote it. time for more boring scenes." so idk

kelsie (taylor's version) I think maybe writing your scenes chronologically would be good because then you can let those action scenes fester in your head and make them even better before you even write it down!

kelsie (taylor's version) and then in your more boring scenes you can add foreshadowing and build tension so the action scenes do feel really exhilarating, both in writing them and reading them.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

thank you for the advice! i can't wait to finish my book

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

i wrote some stuff yesterday...wbu?

kelsie (taylor's version) oh yes i did actually, working on my novel again! I might not have time to type it up and post it though, but I'm on a 2 week break next week so hopefully I'll have time then to show you :)

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

i used to write all my stuff on paper but my thoughts are too fast so i just end up using docs lol

kelsie (taylor's version) Hey! Hows it going? :D

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

well i wrote some stuff a few days ago but i havent done anything since. luckily it was quite a bit so :)

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

im worried that when i finish it no one will buy it and thats a pretty scary thought..

kelsie (taylor's version) hey, I can almost guarantee at least someone will read it. in the slight chance that no one does, then you still have the satisfaction of you wrote a book!

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

:) thank you. sorry for not replying for a few days. lifes been hEcTic

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

hey im going on vacation. i'll still be on, but i won't be as active so if i reply later than usual then you know why. but i promise that i will still respond eventually :)

kelsie (taylor's version) oh, that's okay! Enjoy your holiday!!

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

hey! any writing that you've been doing? i've been consumed in a play that my friend is scripting so haven't done much, but i'd like to know if you have any ideas or things that you've done !

kelsie (taylor's version) that sounds so fun!

I'm at the point in my book where I don't know the route its going; I have no idea who is the main antagonist, I dont know whether one of my main characters will live or die, i dont know whether one of my main characters will be evil or not.... the list goes on. as a result, I havent really been able to write anything. I'm going to try and spend maybe 20 minutes at some point today trying to figure my page's worth of questions XD hopefully that will help and I can carry on writing!

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

idk if this will help, but a lot of stories end up writing themselves. as you write on, you may suddenly just know "this needs to happen" and do that thing. i already have my whole plot planned out, but ive already changed and added new details to the story.

kelsie (taylor's version) yeah, last night I was watching YouTube and then an idea popped into my head for what the plot will be!
