Liander (The Towering Pile) Lavoie (liannelavoie) | 8 comments I'm in! I have SO MUCH horror on my TBR, and I always think I'll read a lot of it around Hallowe'en, and then I run out of time and hardly read any. I need to get in the spoopy mood during other parts of the year!

My stack is to be determined, but will definitely include some Fear Street.

@Elyse
Don't feel bad. Me either. I was struck ill late Sunday... thought it was the flu or maybe Covid (though I've had my first vaccination), but turned out to be cellulitis in my leg. Luckily, I started antibiotics Tuesday so I felt just okay enough to get the starting post up last night. Still not sure what I'm going to read. Oh, I am actually reading a historical mystery myself for my True Book Talk book group this month. The Owl Killers by Katherine Maitland. So there's one I know for sure anyway. lol
Hope you enjoy yours.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I was going to wait to read The Taking of Jake Livingston by Ryan Douglass until closer to publication date (July) but I clearly must read it in April! Cruising through the Bridgerton series right now so those definitely don't count. lol.

Kelley (shewolf0316) | 54 comments Finished 11-22-63 by Stephen King today. Even in audio, at 1.5X speed, it's a long one!

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I still plan to read The Taking of Jake Livingston by Ryan Douglass this month but I've been reading fantasy and romance so far! lol. Finally starting another historical mystery today An Unexpected Peril (Veronica Speedwell, #6) by Deanna Raybourn . I do love this series! I don't think I have it in me to read any true horror right now. The real world is horror enough.

Yes, it was pretty good. I had actually seen the limited series on Hulu a while back so I pretty much knew what to expect but I still enjoyed the book.

Diana | 54 comments I could not get myself to read the first half of this month, (I was going through something but the real problem was most definitely my overthinking it.)

Did manage to get back this weekend and finished:
The Locket by Stacey Jay

Started:
Oh. My. Gods. (Oh. My. Gods., #1) by Tera Lynn Childs
Which I'm not entirely loving but I like that I am reading through it quickly which is probably what I need right now.

message 24: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (shewolf0316) | 54 comments So far I've read or am reading several that fit into the theme of the challenge.

Read:
A Beautiful Evil (Gods & Monsters, #2) by Kelly Keaton The Wicked Within (Gods & Monsters, #3) by Kelly Keaton Dying to Tell (Slaughter Creek, #1) by Rita Herron The Mage in Black by Jaye Wells

Currently Reading:
Heart of Stone (Gods & Monsters, #4) by Kelly Keaton Shamed (Kate Burkholder, #11) by Linda Castillo Blind Salvage (Rylee Adamson, #5) by Shannon Mayer Swamp Secrets by Carla Cassidy

I should have all of these finished before the end of the month. Especially since the Dewey readathon is this weekend. :-) The only one that is iffy to finish in time is Blind Salvage since I just started it today. I'm about halfway through it, but it is my "in car" listen and i don't know if I'll do enough driving between now and end of the month to finish it. I might though. I have it as a downloadable version in my graphic audio app too so there is that.

Icy-Cobwebs-In-Space (readingreindeerproximacentauri) | 159 comments I keep meaning to post a mid-point update; this is more of a 3/4 update. As of 22nd, have read 23: 8 are straight out Horror, 14 SF inc. A few Dystopia and Apocalyptic, 3 Fantasy.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I have finally started The Taking of Jake Livingston by Ryan Douglass and it's only 300 pages so I should be able to finish it by Friday night.
I also happened upon this audiobook in my Audible backlog The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones so I was excited for that! Started it today. And I can also see where it fits into I Read Horror Year-Round Challenge!
I started reading The Maidens by Alex Michaelides (mystery/thriller) today and will also hopefully finish it by Friday night. lol. I had thought it published on May 4 but it's actually not until June 15! But I already started it so I'm invested. lol. These three should close out my "horror" month.
