About chapter 12: I was SO NOT expecting Philip to die so fast!!! Like, I was positive he would try to kill Castor, but wow, not in the first second he was alone. I thought he would try to win some of Castor's trust.
Chapter 13: I gotta say, I have a thing for MC that are all soft, like Castor. Though I like Lore's fiery personality I wish she was more open with Cas. As you said, he spent 7 years in a non-corporeal form and is heavily implied he did not have many friends even as a child.
What Wrath did to her family, the little sisters is monstrous, though is not that far from Philip trying to force little girls into sexual slavery.
Chapter 14: Can't lie, I like Artemis's thirst for vengeance on her brother. XD Do NOT like that she killed a lot of young girls.
Chapter 15: Yeah, the jury's still out for Van, I hope he won't let me down.
Chapter 16: The whole binding thing is fishy, I don't see why Athena would need Lore considering it just raises her chances of getting killed.
Chapter 17: YESSS, I like the characters but I was hoping for a more mature approach because they're around 17-19 years old, and honestly the circumstances in which they were raised got me thinking they would have matured faster. But I still get "teenagery" feels about them. It's just me or is it too soon to ship Miles and Van? XD Now, seriously, I need more background on Lore.

Oh, I agree, Philip was just thrown aside too quickly with the hype he was given. OMG, yes, the treatment of girls throughout is disgusting. Yes, I liked both sisters wanting to avenge Apollo. Artemis looked so good, lol, in the most savage way.
I agree, for how close Cas and Lore have been, it seemed weird to hide all that from him when he was being so open. Perhaps it's because he has become a god, that she is being like this? Still, didn't enjoy that. Maybe she has guilt about the past.
Yes, it is weird indeed, the whole binding concept. Both increased their chances of dying, especially Lore with how fragile Athena's condition was at that moment. Perhaps that was the only way of trust.
Ugh, I agree. It annoyed me at times, the whole bickering. Athena's dialogue has been the most enjoyable. Haha, that ship does sound like a fun one. Oh, now you've got me rooting for it too haha. I think Van does have good intentions but he is hiding something nonetheless. Lore's story regarding Iro is about to unravel for now.

Lore and Cas have history, that's for sure... I think you're right, she has some guilt stored. Athena may have a more insidious agenda... I like her, but I don't fully trust her.
You're right, Athena is the best until now lololol she's sarcastic and very self assured. I think she's awesome! I hope Van is not planning on betraying them, but right now I'm kinda distrusting everyone. Though let's be honest, the biggest plot twist would be if Miles was somehow involved in the Agon.

why is this book giving me more questions than answers?
im having a hard time connecting with the characters like they're all fine but i can't bring myself to actually feel something towards them...... i think this book would have been much better if it had multiple POVs that way we would gotten to know the characters more in depth

Bracken should just straight up say that Miles is into Van i mean she keeps mentioning Miles said this "uncharacteristically" did this "uncharacteristically" whenever Van is around and i mean we have eyes we can see how his ears got pink and how he tries to match his cold gaze with his own and blah blah

It is a relief, yes but I was kinda hyped about him after all those things about his position and power and the loyalty he inspired along with the spine he had. He could have been a major thorn somewhere further into the Agon.

I feel you! The whole story and plot is really good, but I'm not enjoying much of anything except Athena and her sassy comments. Moreover, their bickering is also putting me off, and yes it's just hard to connect to any of them. I could feel about Lore's family though. That was written so beautifully, but the rest is hard to connect with. I'm a bit disappointed.

That's genuinely the best haha, I am immensely enjoying that. I think Athena got fond of him after he refused to leave Lore to save himself lol. I hope she doesn't have any evil plans for him though.

Ok... Girls, I don't know what to make of things until now. I gotta start with the fact that besides Lore being all about the training and the tradition, she couldn't keep her mouth shut for half an hour... I mean it was quite clear that the discussion between her father and Wrath was somewhat a big deal.
Then, she actually attacked a girl because her pride was hurt? And don't get me wrong, I normally cut a LOT of slack to MC that are teens, because well... we all are very impulsive at that age. But... I think her actions did not fit her upbringing and her own beliefs.
Now, her action was a tiny bit exaggerated as I see it, BUT c'mon her father couldn't even have a talk to her? Like: look, we're going to see the Kadmides and maybe negotiate some alliance, so I need you to keep quiet while the adults are talking? Control yourself and remember I won't let anyone hurt you.
I mean, that's the least he could do, right? Or I am getting way ahead of myself? XD

Anyway, then back to the whole gang: I was quite surprised to hear that Hermes and the new Dyonisius are lovers. I thought it was clear that the old Gods would never mix with the new ones, so I'm not sure I have enough going on until now to buy it as believable.
Plus, I gotta say I'm not a fan of the use of technology. I think I was expecting more old-fashioned brawls and weird magic.
We still got almost half a book to finish, so I'm hoping for something that actually gets me going. Otherwise, this little one is only staying on my shelves because of its looks. #sad :(

Yes, I think it would have been better if the characters were mature. Lore was much more tolerable in the beginning, but now she keeps freezing or is too slow, and too shocked lol. I also can't connect with her which is not helpful because she is our main.

Yeah, there seems to be no real reason behind it. Van laughing and then hiding his laughter was a surety of Laysa's prediction of their ship, but this isn't making it good at all.

Yeah, it's really weird. Why would he trust her so? She was a complete stranger. In the last 7 years, she has been with Iro's family for maybe 3 of those? And that means 4 with Gil and Miles but he chose to leave it all to her.

I do ship Van and Miles, I think there is something there but I think Miles is getting a head of himself and maybe seeing himself as invincible with all these goddesses and gods and heroes near him? I just hope he survives
Hmm didn’t think much of Gil other than an old guy who helped out Lore and she helped him in return but perhaps there was another motive for his choices to leave everything to Lore

i agree with your thoughts on Miles, Karen, he's definitely getting a bit ahead of himself and he should really be more careful. honestly, i don't really love his attitude when he's around Van haha. i kinda ship it, but they're also so prickly around one another, and it's a little irritating. but yeah, i also hope Miles survives!
