Here you can tell us what got you into reading!

message 2: by Lorelei (new)

Lorelei (literarylitanies) The Selection is what kickstarted my passion for reading. I had loved it for some time before that, but I think of that when I think of my first real book in a sense.

message 3: by stu (new)

stu (blobmustardsprinkles) Mine was probably Harry Potter, but that kinda got me into reading, but I kinda feel like it was Percy Jackson more, cause that got me into reading more popular books, I guess

That was me too! I used to read a lot when I was really little then I kinda fell out of it but I found the selection book and started reading the series and I've now been into reading every since!

Harry Potter was also one that got me into reading. I could literally read the book for hours and it would feel like ten minutes it was my favorite!!

Magic treehouse was my whole entire childhood

message 24: by Tytti (new)

Tytti (tyttih) I think the first books I ever read were Harry Potter. I made a deal with my parents that we'd watch the movie adaptation after I finished a book. After that I remember reading Twilight (and being utterly in love with Edward) and from there I really started reading a lot. In high school though I didn't read too much and I only picked up more books now because I was so bored during the pandemic.

message 25: by Anto (new)

Anto My parents always encouraged me to read, so they bought me "kids books" like short stories or things like that, and when I was about ten years old I asked them to buy me The Harry Potter books, I really tried to read them but I found it so difficult. Three years later (when I was 13) I finally read them and from there I started reading and asking them for more books.
So yeah, thanks to my parent to get me into reading

same... but way before that in my childhood I used to read Thea Stilton, Roald Dahl and random books about fairies and glitter..lol 😅
so tbh I think those were the books that got me into reading...
