What is your reading pace? How many chapters/pages you complete in one sitting?

Tell us here!

Nathan (nathan-93) 1. Depends on my mood.
2. Depends on the book in question.

1 - Happy -150 pages?
- Bored - 70 pages?
- Metro Transit Journey = Around 60 pages
- IDK - 10 pages
- Angry - 5 pages

2 - Awesome book, tripping storyline = Obviously the full book....
Hmm Interesting, will check it later = around 40%
Mehh, I am getting bored, 30% ish or maybe lesser.
Ugh! What is this crap novel? 10%, stupid author, [gender neutral] should be banned from writing ever!!

You really have an idea about how you read! That's a great way to classify.

Carol LB (carollb) | 70 comments I don't really have a reading pace. I mean I'm more of a slow reader (hate it but it is what it is), though sometimes I get to read a 300 page book in a day (being a slow reader!). How do I do it? I wish I knew. I guess it depends on the book and the language, sometimes I read faster than other times.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 382 comments I'm a slow reader, but I don't hate it. I think my brain absorbs the information better and holds onto it longer.

My reading pace varies. I know at max I can hit 150 pages an hour if totally left alone. I've been off my reading game for a while so I haven't been reading as much. But if the right book triggers me I can eat it up in a day still.

stu (blobmustardsprinkles) | 505 comments It really depends, if I am really enjoying the book, I could read a bunch, and if not, then would usually not read much, like maybe one chapter or something.

Ash (inkwordsandash) (inkwordsandash) | 107 comments Depends on my mood and the quality of the book. If I'm in a good mood then I finish 3.5-5 star reads in 1-3 sittings (3-4 hours total, if the book is around 300 pages, I guess..) If the book drags and I'm bored (usually 1-3 star reads) I take an entire day, or two. Sometimes if the book is long and boring, I read 2-3 books at a time and finish the 'boring book' in 3-5 days...

But usually I take 2-3 sittings.

message 9: by Ana (new)

Ana Paes I'm a fast reader, I usually finish a 300 page book in 1-2 sittings. But if I'm not enjoying much the book I turn into a very slow reader, it takes 6 months for me to finally finish or I just keep postponing to read other (more interesting) books.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 382 comments Wow! Ana! I'm so jealous!!!

message 11: by Mia (new)

Mia (miarose7) Ok.. speaking monthly, generally 11. Baki, depends on page count, mood, challenges, availability and my parents (My parents have problem with me reading books, let alone being a writer, and that can go up and down every month)

message 12: by Unknown (new)

Unknown Reader | 180 comments Depends on the book , of course. If the book is too good, then I’m probably not gonna leave the book for more than a minute. If the book is horrible …I’m still not gonna leave the book because I want to finish the book fast and move on

For mediocre book, I’ll say around 100 pages in one sitting ? Depends on the mood though
