Someone Else Pick It For Me - May

We will definitely miss you, Abigail. But, a writer's workshop is a great activity, too. I promise there will be two more chances. :)

Thanks! And, oh my yes, I'd feel the nerves if I were you. But, you're right about how good it will be to challenge yourself like that. There's something about pressure to get us to really dig deep. :)

Thank you!!!
Howdy, everyone! I'm so glad you could join 'someone else pick it'.
I have randomly drawn names from those who submitted a list of books and will put those just below.
For those who are new to this fun activity, here is what you do next:
1. Find your name in the left hand column and then go to the right hand column to see whose name you drew.
2. Go back up in the discussion thread and find that person's list. Choose a book from that list. And, then make a comment to that person of what book you chose for them. Do this by April 30th, please.
3. Watch for the person who drew your name to post their pick from your booklist.
4. Start your books on or after May 1st and feel free to come back and leave a comment of what you thought of the book. If you want to discuss as you're reading, you can comment on your impressions as you go. Just make sure to mark any spoilery comments at the beginning of your comment.

Howdy, Christina!
I drew your name. So many goodies in your list that I haven't read, but am curious about and one or two I know are good after reading them. What to pick... I'll go with one I'm curious about.
The Best Laid Flight Plans by Leigh Dreyer

I must own I am not a fan of modern retellings- I read JAFF chiefly to time travel- so I vacillated between ‘The Value of an Anne Elliot’ & ‘Mr Darcy’s Brides’. They both sound promising, but after reading the reviews I alighted on ‘Mr. Darcy's Brides’.
If the scuttlebutt is to be credited, it is action packed, has an fresh premiss, and is overall engaging and well written. I am put out I did not spot this title before, it is now on my TBR short list.
May it lives up the hype and be deemed unputdownable,
Shifra

You have given my still foggy head many good choices. And someone who has far far better judgement than me (even in normal days) gave high marks to 5 of 6. Yikes!
Silent drumroll...the choice is...
BeSwitched.
Happy reading!

OMG! it is sooooo good. The author did an amazing job! And her first time.
To be honest, I can't tell what I liked more Mrs. Bennet, Mrs. Philips or ODC's tenacity.

I’m so sorry I’m late picking your book. My mom passed away on April 25, and I’m just now getting back to the internet.
I picked Jane Austen's Cousin: The Outlandish Countess de Feuillide. I have that one on my own TBR pile and I’ll be eager to know what you thought of it.
Jeanne, wow, I figured something in real life was distracting you so no worries. You dear gal, hugs, my sympathies. You take whatever time you need to grieve and we will shower you with virtual hugs here.
And, I will happily read it and be the tester for it. :)

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by April 30th.
You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.
So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your May book.
When you're done reading, feel free to drop a new comment of what you thought of your book.
Happy Reading!
