Amy (asawatzky) | 1743 comments space to discuss one of the commentariat's favorites & worry about what other darling it will face in the tourney!

Kyle | 898 comments Just started this - the one that I hadn't read out of all 16 - and three chapters in I already love it. Not only is it brilliantly written, but I just spotted a reference to an old internet meme (the Zybourne Clock) in one chapter. I laughed out loud.

Kyle | 898 comments Moving slowly through this one, but so far it's great. I had been hesitant to approach it, because "failing marriage + musings on modern society and technology" didn't seem entirely original or enticing. However, those concerns have mostly melted away as I go through chapter after chapter. Each chapter has some sort of clever approach or interesting way of looking at things, and the writing is superb. Glad to see that Mary Toft was by no means an outlier - this is just as good.

(By the way, re: my earlier post, I'll note that inclusion of internet memes do not a quality book make - I'm looking at you, Ernest Cline - but seeing one from an internet forum that I frequented a decade ago did tickle my funny bone.)

Thank you for that comment! For whatever reason, I missed the fact that those two books were by the same author. Just added his first novel to my to-read list.

Kyle | 898 comments Ooh, I didn't notice that he had another book. Probably going to try to grab that one as well.
