How did you become an ARMY?

*Gasps* They looked all the same to you! How could you? Jk! I'm just joking around! When I first looked at them though, I honestly didn't think they looked all the same, I could see big differences, but I can see why people would see them as the same!

Same!!!! Namjoon was the most identifiable for me. Before I couldn't tell you the names of each member but now I know all of their faces and voices lol
ok I kind of shared my story of how i became army on the introduction page, so I just will copy and paste it here:
I have liked them since 2018 when I first saw them perform "IDOL" on AGT. I saw them sing and dance and kind of fell in love! My family didn't understand how kpop was so popular in America, so I didn't really start stanning. Then, at the beginning of quarantine, I decided to watch this 30 minute YouTube video that described each of the members and their personalities because I thought, why not? And, because one of my school friends liked talking about BTS and she encouraged me to get into their music. Then I started watching some of their music videos and was AMAZED. I didn't really do much after that. But then in January, my mom bought me the Love Yourself: Answer album, and that's when I started to become true ARMY. Now, my sister and I are both ARMY and it's a lot of fun stanning with her!

I have almost the same story :(
The difference is that none of my friend persuaded me to listen to them but I got interested in them after listening to Life Goes on and Joon's UN speech.

ahah classic, so many people have become armys from "i just want to know their names" hehe
I became ARMY and Suga biased by three songs:
Boy With Luv
Mic Drop (you gotta love this era)
and... Save Me
Before I was ARMY, I didn't really know the term BTS that well, but after one of my ARMY buddies recommended a couple of songs, it was love at first note.
ARMY 4 ever :D

You gotta love them :D. I'm not an old ARMY (I joined somewhere between the Dynamite and Life Goes On era), but still love all the BTS songs the same :D

I thought you said in your introduction that you were an ARMY for a year, 'Film Out' was released in April. It's fine lol, I'm just being problematic, sorry. ")

Was it released this year? O.o I thought it was last year. This year and last year are really hard for me to figure out lol.
I know it's been close to a year at least so maybe Film Out stuck out for me since it's one of the first I saw released???
Yeah, it was released this year! Yeah I can understand that lol.
Maybe! 'Film Out' was the first song released when I was an ARMY too! 'Dynamite' was the first song I ever heard by them though lol, figures.

I know it's been longer than 4-5 months because I saw something another youtuber I like did with BTS and I remember that I had already watched some of their videos at that point. I think I started a little after muster last year? So July maybe?
You both started to really love BTS over a period of a few years, that's cool! I love 'Hold Me Tight' and 'Love Yourself: Tear', they're both amazing.

I have a friend who used to rant on and on about BTS all the time. In 2018. We used to ignore her or make excuses if she ever started with BTS again. I regretted that time. I still regret somewhat now that I did not listen to her about how amazing they are! Well, I was not into music at that time. I started listening songs on Youtube. I heard a lot of hollywood and bollywood songs. I got recs and a lot of things but I ignored them. Once I got this BTS recommendation [Dynamite]. I ignored it back in August 2020. I got it several times, but I did not pay attention. My cousin told me to listen to Kill This Love by Blackpink and I hardly knew them, but there was this other friend of mine who was really into BP. My cousin's andmy taste in music is practically the same, so I heard it and I loved it! Nope, not the end. I didn't know at all that something like k-pop existed. I knew that there were korean songs, but I did not know that they were called as k-pop. November was there. Me and my cousin were hanging out, listening to music. I got this rec again and she told me to listen. I fell in love with Dynamite!! I wished I had heard it sooner. I came home on 27th Nov and streamed however many songs I could and the rest is history!
That's a long story! I'm glad you finally listened to K-Pop! I didn't know K-Pop existed either, I only knew the name BTS, I didn't even know they were a K-Pop group! I was so ignorant lol.

That's a great story! I'm glad they crept up on you and now you're a fan! I was also a One Direction fan before BTS, and I was also very biased 😂

Yeess, the old school K-Pop fans, love them 😂. Taehyung? Joe Jonas? I don't see the difference 🤣. It's amazing that "Fake Love" was your first comeback, "Butter" was mine lmao. (Well, "Film Out" came out when I was a fan, but I'm not sure if it was a comeback) BTS also had ALL my attention for about a year lol. Omg, the darn military, Jin... precious Jin. I'm so glad you get to let your kids grow up with K-Pop, that's amazing.

Yeah lol, I get that. Yeah, I became a fan in February or March last year! I'm convinced I discovered them in February but my sister is convinced that I discovered them in March, I don't even know lol. Because me and my sister became fans at the same time. Yeah, they honestly kind of should be released from the mandatory service but then that would cause outrage and fans would go crazy over why their ults aren't or weren't allowed to not go to the military even though the reason is obvious. Fans of other groups were already really mad that they get to go to the military when they're 30 so imagine the chaos if they were granted full... I can't think of the word lol. Whatever, you get what I mean, if they were allowed to not go to the military.

Yeah, I felt sad when I heard of all the EXO members going to the military, coming back and other members going in. Oh, that would be... a good alternative maybe? I think that would be good because then we wouldn't miss one or two members every time we saw the other members. It would get the service out of the way too. But yeah, who knows. I don't even know if I would want that though.
What's your story?
