2017 Reading Challenge discussion

Clive Cussler is one of my mom's favorite authors and she has been trying to get me to start this new series of books by him for quite some time. This is the first book in the Isaac Bell series. I've read most of the Dirk Pitt books and absolutely love them and this new series is no different. Cussler continues his trend of weaving history with action and adventure. This time the story is actually set during the turn of the century, an exciting time, and follows a detective who is on the hunt for a bank robber and serial killer. The characters are interesting and well written. The plot is exciting and driving. I only had a bit of trouble getting into the story at the very beginning but I think it was more to do with my reluctance to read about someone other than Pitt.
