Doris's readathons

Sorting out the reading stack is almost half the fun. lol
Knowing when to abandon it to read something completely different is a skill it took me a few readathons to learn!

I've already finished one of my stack (Daughters of Yalta), but I don't expect I'll have any difficulty in finding plenty to read.

Breath from Salt: A Deadly Genetic Disease, a New Era in Science, and the Patients and Families Who Changed Medicine Forever, pages 27-66, 39 pages total.
Snack: Lay's Yogurt and Seasonal Herbs Chips (the closest version in Turkey to sour cream and onion chips)

Happy readathon-ing!

Reading:
I have two books in particular that I want to finish this weekend:
Ghosts of Gold Mountain: The Epic Story of the Chinese Who Built the Transcontinental Railroad, which is due back at the library on Sunday
Lovers at the Chameleon Club, Paris 1932, which I want to finish in April for a TBR challenge
I have a few other books in progress as well, which I may or may not dip into:
Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead
Syria's Secret Library: Reading and Redemption in a Town Under Siege
Sylvia Pankhurst: Natural Born Rebel
If I want to start something new, I have a few books queued up and ready to go:
I, Robot
Eleanor Roosevelt, Volume 1: The Early Years, 1884-1933
A Lady's Guide to Mischief and Murder
And, as a 'palate cleanser', I have a brand new acquisition:
Cats in Space...and Other Places, which promises cats, science fiction, and puns galore! I *do* hope I won't be disappointed.
Of course all reading plans are subject to change without notice depending on my whims of the moment.
I don't really do much by way of snack planning, *except* that peanut M&Ms are a must.

Thanks, Cynda. Hour 8 corresponds to my hour 15 (if my arithmetic is correct!), so I may check in - depends on how engrossing my read du moment is. :-)
The good news Doris is that if you answer before or after, it is okay. Very relaxed here. Looking forward to seeing what you read during the readathon:-)

Thanks, Susy. Happy readathon!

That‘s a good idea. I hadn‘t considered that. I‘m in Germany, so my starting time tomorrow would be 2 pm. And I‘ll be going a little window shopping in the afternoon with a friend and we‘ll have dinner at a place we haven‘t been to yet. So I will definitely miss a few hours. So maybe I‘ll just start with breakfast as well.

I have a few books that I'm already reading, so I hope to make some progress on some or all:
A Promised Land (audiobook)
The Daughters of Yalta: The Churchills, Roosevelts, and Harrimans: A Story of Love and War (library book)- finished 23-AprThe Mirror & the Light
The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz
I have a couple of short story collections to dip into if I need palate cleansers (as it were):
The Complete Works of Saki
Vampires, Zombies, Werewolves and Ghosts: 25 Classic Stories of the Supernatural
And I have a few new library books lined up in case none of the above fits my mood of the moment:
Breath from Salt: A Deadly Genetic Disease, a New Era in Science, and the Patients and Families Who Changed Medicine Forever
Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity—and Why This Harms EverybodyAnimal, Vegetable, Junk: A History of Food, from Sustainable to Suicidal
All of the above is, of course, subject to change without notice, and I may just end up re-reading Georgette Heyer or Agatha Christie. :-)
