a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf
b: What books are on your NG shelf
c: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is

2. During the month, read the NetGalley books that you can AND update your post with your reviews. (You can do this after each book or wait until the end of the month.)

3. At the end of the month, update your post and with:
a: What books you read
b: Link(s) to your review(s)**
c: Your updated shelf count
d: Your updated books to read

Vicki Willis | 496 comments Oh! My reading has grounded to a halt. Unfortunately (or luckily) to go along with that, I haven't been requesting any new books either. SO my percentage hasn't really changed, but I have gotten further behind with the ones I do have.
Summer is coming though and I usually have more time for reading then so we will see how it goes.

I had a lag in my reading recently as well and I've had to put a pause on my requesting. I do have a few books pending, but they are unlikely to be approved at this point. I found that I was feeling overwhelmed with pending publication dates, so decided to request less for a while. Summer tends to be a little slower reading time for me, for maybe I'll pick up again in the fall. Not that I'm rushing that! lol

I saw that one available on NetGalley and thought it sounded interesting, but I ultimately decided against it. I think I probably made a good decision.

Kristie | 3595 comments I agree. That one sounds really interesting, but the reviews are saying it didn't live up to expectations. I might have added it to my TBR otherwise. Good review, Karen.

I was expecting more of a psychological thriller.

My own fault for pressing big shiny buttons without looking at the synopsis a bit more. haha

Yasmine (swissbookworm) | 552 comments Ouff, so in April I once more added more books than I read so now I really need to try and do a requesting-stop!

I also made an Edelweiss account and requested some books there for the first time! So that's exciting!! Are you guys on Edelweiss too?

Kristie | 3595 comments I added one. I was trying not to add anything unless it is a September or later release because I'm a little behind and have enough coming up with little time to read. But... Macmillan Audio added The Maidens and since I'm pre-approved with them, I just couldn't resist. I'm pretty excited for it actually. It publishes June 15th, so I still have a month which is doable.

The Maidens by Alex Michaelides

Love the justification for clicking the big shiny button, Kristie :)
(I would have done the same!)

Kristie | 3595 comments My problem is that I can always justify it somehow. haha

An interesting thing I have realized is that I end up reading most of the books I am declined for. I just don't have the pending pub date to worry about. I'm pretty good about only requesting books I really want to read, so my decline shelf is like a tbr for me. I usually request them through my library and they have purchased quite a few of them, but I've also purchased a few. I almost always love them.

I have done the same with a few books I was declined for. Normally I go back and give them my review anyway.

Where do you leave your review for them?

Same here Kristie, I’m pretty good at only requesting books I would read regardless. I hadn’t thought of going back through and seeing what I was declined for to check which ones are on my tbr shelf

message 34: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments I'm not sure why I looked at it at all, but when I did I realized that I had read several of the books and really enjoyed them, so I started requesting them from the library and recommending them for purchase if they didn't have them.

Kristie | 3595 comments Added These Silent Woods These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant . It was on my pending shelf for a little while and I was surprised to see the approval. I still have a couple of others hanging out there that I don't expect, but I'd love to get.

Finished
The Last Reunion by Kayte Nunn

It was interesting from an historical fiction point of view, but I find the author likes HEAs a little too much.

Kristie | 3595 comments Oh gosh... I added another. lol I had The Forest of Vanishing Stars The Forest of Vanishing Stars by Kristin Harmel on my pending shelf for a long time and thought for sure it was just a decline that would eventually fall off, but I got the approval email today. I was so surprised. I loved her last book, The Book of Lost Names, so I'm super excited to read it, but I was not expecting to add another book to my current schedule.

Well, that's 4 added and none reviewed this month. I do have one that I just finished and plan to review today, so the month won't be a complete bust review-wise.

Should I even admit that I'm considering accepting The Therapist? Anyone else read it and have thoughts on it?
