How surprised were you to see Barry Crawford still alive (barely)?

I wasn't surprised at all. Near the middle of the book when Lucy and Abigail noticed that Barry hadn't responded to their texts, either Joseph or Tobias mentioned that there was a surprise in the basement. I figured that Barry was being held in the basement. Then when they found the body in the trunk of Barry's car and they couldn't visually identify it, I knew Barry was still alive.

I have to admit I didn’t make the connection between the “surprise in the basement” and Barry. I was caught by complete surprise when Sean saw him in that room. I really thought he was dead.

Not too surprised. They hadn't really determined that it was him in the trunk.

For some reason or another, I didn’t think it was him in the trunk (wonder who that was!) but just felt he was now dead.

Not surprised. I think Barry and Lucy have some unfinished business to take care of.

That will be a tough encounter.

I was surprised. I think I was too upset about Lucy that I missed the hints.
