This was a nice follow-up to the other two San Antonio books. It tied up a bunch of loose ends. While I was trying to figure out who the DEA and FBI leaks were, I wrote down the names of the many agents so I could keep track of them. There were so many characters. For a while I thought Zach or Kenzie was the FBI leak, but I couldn't decide which one it was. Juan was also a suspect, along with Ryan. Poor Ryan. He's been on my suspect list in all three books.

Also, I liked the fact that Lucy wasn't a big fan of Patrick's new girlfriend. She mentioned that in the past six months, Patrick had to get Elle out of hot water several times. It's nice to see that Lucy agreed with our overall opinion of Elle.

Thank you, Robin.
I’m ashamed to admit that Zach stayed on my list the entire time. And he’s such a great analyst. Poor Ryan remained on the perimeter of my list and I think it’s time to give him a permanent pass. I never dismissed Juan but really didn’t consider him seriously. He was such a family man with too much to risk.

Before Elise, Lucy used more general terms. But with Elise, she was so alarmed by this girl’s sociopathy that she used definitive terms to get people’s attention, especially with Hans agreement and support.
Oh, I was thrilled to see Lucy shared our opinion about Elle. I’m still bugged that she’s who Patrick ended up with.

I would think that as a profiler you would need to be pretty certain in your opinions and not leave it up in the air. It would make many people doubt you and think that you don't really know what you are doing.
Good, we all agree that Elle is wrong for Patrick!

I was wondering the same thing. It's odd that the author would add Lucy's comment about Elle.

I agree completely. I am not an Elle fan at all. Maybe Brennan will do something with her to redeem her, but I really hope Patrick breaks up with her. I know they have an oil and water thing going, but I just didn't like her.
I knew at the end of their story she would never work for me. Not sure what Brennan is going to do.

*sigh* I fear you’re both right. Such a fail with this character. Brennan tried to create her as looking like a champion for those who are forgotten. Instead, she just came across as selfish and thoughtless. How to you do a makeover for someone like this?
