Meenu | 19 comments Definitely the books. I would say the TV adaption is average.

Erica | 1309 comments Who else learned that they had been pronouncing Grisha wrong after watching the series?

Smarty pants. I love the casting for Jasper and Alina so much.

Fabitha (fabitha89) | 575 comments I binged the show on day one, reminded me so much of my Witcher hype!

I think they did a good job merging the storylines and I like the cast. I didn't like Mal and Alina on paper but I'm willing to give them a chance on screen (also yes, Mal is definitely less of an idiot and that's a bonus. I really didn't like him in the books).

In general, I often prefer the books to the adaptation, and this is a classic case, but I still really like the show, I just couldn't stop and I was glad to see all of them and really *recognize* them from the books. They stayed quite on point.

I was also pronuncing Grisha right! Maybe I shouldn't be shocked though, since it's simply how I'd read it if it was an Italian word XD

PJ (pjheartsu) There's something special about seeing beloved characters come to life in a movie/TV adaption when it's done right. The casting is perfection! The Netflix adaptation improves Alina and Mal's characters. Alina is less of a damsel in distress, and Mal is less of a jerk. I'm crossing my fingers for a second season because of--who else--Nikolai, Tamar, and Tolya!

Who's excited for Season 2? Who's looking forward to watching it?

I loved the first season and I am eagerly waiting for the next, and especially Wylan!

Lisette (illusie) | 1284 comments I loved book 1 of the series but didn't quite enjoy the rest of the series, so never watched the series on tv. I probably won't like it that much
