Patricia | 120 comments Has anyonbe read Pride and Premeditation yet? Do you know what year it takes place? I thought it was a modern retelling but theyre talking about how women cant be lawyers/barristers and women instead having jobs as secretary instead and sewing


CindySR (neyankee) After reading a few reviews and checking the tags, it looks to be a historical fiction from the regency era. But I haven't read it yet so don't take that as gospel!

I read it. It's Regency, but there is a lot of modern thinking and actions, too- on purpose. There are no women barristers, but Charlotte is Mr. Bennet's (solicitor) secretary and Lizzy wants job of investigator for the firm (no other women do that).
