Please list down any books completed that coincide with the prompt down below. The prompt for May is "YA historical fiction" and the challenge will be going from May 1st to the end of the month :)

Please enter the books read like this for your entry to count:

"I read Ziggy, Stardust and Me by James Brandon"

This challenge is individual just like our previous April prompt challenge. With this prompt challenge, whoever reads the most YA historical fiction books wins, it's pretty simple and straightforward. Only books that are listed under YA and Historical Fiction count! Entries can be recorded down below as well as any questions you might have.

Let the odds be ever in your favour and good luck!

Eileen | 863 comments So as long as it shows up on Goodreads as historical fiction and YA, it will count?

Eileen | 863 comments Finished number two. I loved it enough that I will look for more books by this author, although my library has a rather limited selection.

Eileen | 863 comments This was a fun one by Maureen Johnson that I ended up enjoying and I now have sympathy for Cruella Deville:

Eileen | 863 comments Apparently, YA historical fiction is a genre I am enjoying lol! Hoping to find some suggestions from other group members! :D

Just finished Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse and will likely read her latest book, They Went Left. My review of the Blue Coat:

Eileen | 863 comments One more: I couldn't wait, and read thee author's latest book, They Went Left. I found it to be even more gripping than Girl in the Blue Coat. Highly recommend this one.

Eileen | 863 comments The Woman with the Blue Star was a good one and is my second book by the author. I'm not sure if it was strictly YA, but the main characters are teen women and there were definitely parts of it that felt YA it to me. Solid read though!

Eileen | 863 comments The Willow Wren was a unique perspective in the WWII historical fiction genre as it was from the POV of a young German boy whose father was one of the higher-ups in the Nazi party, but his mother and he and his siblings were anything but Nazis. It is based on the stories told by the author's father (he is the main character) and although he had to fill in plausible details and conversations, his father apparently told many stories and he supplemented with his grandmother's memoirs and stories told by his aunt and uncle, so that this really feels like a biography/memoir. This was an interesting read!

Eileen | 863 comments I may finish up my monthly challenge with Red, White, and Whole, which is a historical fiction in verse for Middle School/YA.
