🌟Hello participants!! Welcome to this Maze Race Competition!🌟

⭐️So, this challenge has begun and you can chat here along the month, what books you are reading, which ones did you think were good, and such.
⭐️Apart from this, since the prompts are common for all, let's ask and share about the books following certain prompts, in case you don't find books following a prompt, you can ask fellow competitors and Mods will also try to recommend some!

❗️ ❗️Also, there are going to be important announcements regarding the challenge, which will be posted here, so stay posted! ❗️ ❗️

Milind (milindkapadiya) Would Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children count for letter Y? If not, than can you all give me some book recs for this prompt?

Since I don't have the book, I can't tell you for sure but if it included images, it can count.

Ananya I got 'Q'
Planning to read The priory of the orange tree by Samantha Shannon. But it will cost me some time (over 800 pages) so I will do another prompt too simultaneously. (just 1 prompt so that I could read 2 books) I believe that's alright.

Sure np! Good luck :) 800 pages is quite a challenge, at least for me.

message 15: by Arundhati (new)

Arundhati | 1454 comments So I got 17 for which I have to read a book over 60 chaps. I am contemplating between the two options I have. So I spun second time to do second prompt parallely. I got 26 which is to read a book with pencil/pen/paint brushes on it's cover and I have no idea what to pick for it. Any recommendations??

message 16: by Arundhati (new)

Arundhati | 1454 comments Rushali if you haven't read Red, White and Royal Blue, it has MC named Alex. It's a really fun book.

Mia (miarose7) Hey! I got a K which means a book with Golden Cover.. is it fine if the cover has Golden element or the full cover should be only golden?

Can you link the book here? I'll let you know if it works or not. But the main colour of the cover should be golden, not an element.

Yeah this will work, majority is golden because the MC is a major part of cover.

You can spin again. And no, buddy Reads have to be in this group, we can't keep track of others.

message 26: by Mia (new)

Mia (miarose7) Hm.. ok! Thanks!

message 27: by Lenni (new)

Lenni Jones I spun a 4 and need a book written in the format of a diary, Dear Enemy (Daddy-Long-Legs, #2) by Jean Webster is written in the form of letters, but the letters are basically like the main character’s diary. Would you say it works?

It's your interpretation, if you think it fits the prompt, go for it.

message 29: by Lenni (new)

Lenni Jones Awesome, thanks! Also, would you say Six of Crows is set on Earth? I know it’s set in fictional countries, but it doesn’t seem like their world is any different than ours (in the sense of only one moon, there’s gravity, etc.)

Mia (miarose7) Hey! I read Perks of Being a Wallflower, which all my friends told me was Lgbt book.. but now I have read it, there was only lgbt rep (a main side character was gay) but other than that the book itself wasn't lgbt..
does that count?

No, the prompt says an LGBTQ book so I think it shouldn't count.

message 41: by Mia (new)

Mia (miarose7) So I got no points at all?😔

message 42: by Mia (new)

Mia (miarose7) That means I would have to redo my prompt?

message 43: by Mia (new)

Mia (miarose7) Also.. I searched up on web as well as lgbt books list on GoodReads.. the book is on both shelves

message 45: by Arundhati (new)

Arundhati | 1454 comments Hey I think Perks of being a wallflower should be considered a contender for lgbtq. Even though the main character Charlie isn't gay, his closest best friend is. And it does highlight the shame associated with being gay and how he struggles to come out. There are multiple themes covered in the book, out of which this was one of it. And as Mia mentions it does fall in the lgbtq+ list. I think she should get the points. :)

Oh np, she said it wasn't an LGBTQ book so I said on that basis, but if you think it is and if it's on the list, then sure, I have no issues.
Basically I went with her interpretation of the book, when she said that it isn't an LGBTQ book, I didn't check myself and haven't read it. I should have checked first. Apologies. Get your points Mia.

Ananya Hey! I got C - book published under pen name. I have to read Pride and prejudice as I already made prior commitments in another group and I think this would fit the prompt too, as Jane Austen published all her work under a pseudonym. I WON'T be counting the buddy read but it's still ok if I use this book?
