I'm currently reading some genre-adjacent nonfiction: Flame and Crimson: A History of Sword-and-Sorcery by Brian Murphy.
I'm almost done with Legacy of Ash. My reading has been slooow since last month, work's been hectic. Hoping to read more this month.

I really struggled with book one- the story sounded good, the narrator was good but I had zero interest. Keep wondering if I’d like it as a ‘reading’ book.

I enjoyed reading it, solid epic fantasy, but did feel a bit disconnected at times. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it in a continuous stretch.

Finished Flame and Crimson: A History of Sword-and-Sorcery and, for no particular reason, started The People of the Mist by H. Rider Haggard.
In light of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition release (which I won't get to play until after I finish my current game), I started Mass Effect: Revelation by Drew Karpyshyn.
Read Fatemarked because I needed something light after a bunch of lengthy epic fantasies. But boy was it good! Deciding what to read next

I finished The Black Tides of Heaven. I liked it OK. I think it suffers one of the pitfalls of novellas where there’s a lack of development, and I didn’t fully understand its magic system, but it was unique.After a while of deciding, I finally picked Trail of Lightning to read next. I’ve wanted to read it for a while.
And finished Piranesi (it was short) and decided to get a jump on next month's pick (I nominated it so I really do need to read it, right?), Blue Moon Rising.
