Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments What book about the Tudors or Tudor England would you like to have as our Group Read in June 2021?

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.

Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.

Two nominations to a person, please.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments Sorry about the delay - wasn't terribly well (nasty muscle pull).

Janet Wertman | 20 comments I would love for people to consider one of the books from my Seymour Saga trilogy! Jane the Quene is the first in the series, and The Path to Somerset comes second (and has just been named a finalist for the Chaucer Prize). They are absolutely standalones... Jane the QueneThe Path to Somerset

Just finished reading this.

William Whalen | 68 comments Hello Annarose,

I will admit that Divorced, Beheaded, Survived A Feminist Reinterpretation of the Wives of Henry VIII by Karen Lindsey by Karen Lindsey looks interesting, but I think I can predict the book's conclusion from the title. Henry VIII is found to be a leader in the feminist movement. Don't tell me if I'm right, I'd hate to have the ending spoiled.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments If anyone has a nomination to make, now is a good time.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments Alright, I will nominate A Dead Man in Deptford and The Confident Hope of a Miracle: The True Story of the Spanish Armada.

And with that I close nominations.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments The poll is now open (and I had to make it twice, for whatever reason). You'll find it at the top of the group's Polls page, the bottom of its Home page, or here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2... .

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments If voting closed now (it's still open - for a bit), the winner would be (color me totally not shocked) Katharine Parr, the Sixth Wife.
