My question is, if someone were to write the story of your life, who would you want it to be AND what is the title?

Elizabeth (Liz) wrote: "What inspires you to write certain scenes and characters? Is it a song, a conversation that pops into your head? A muse, like, an actor or model? Something that happens in your real life? Where..."

Hi Liz, thanks for your question. I get inspiration from many sources, movies, TV, music, etc. But, I get most of my story ideas from real life. For instance, I was inspired to write Blame It On The Snow from the snowstorm that hit Atlanta. As I watched the line of cars outside my window, my thoughts were, "what if."

Good question, Amy. I suppose I don't write women who are naive and virginal because I'm neither. Even back when I was still a virgin, I wasn't at all naive. I'm not sure how I'd even begin to write a character who wasn't at lease a little cynical. Also, I'm not a super fast writer, so I end up spending a lot of time with my characters. My hero has to be a man I would date, and my heroine must be a woman I'd want to be friends with.

One of my favorite quotes is, "In the end we only regret the risks we didn't take."
I've taken many risks in my life-becoming an author being one--very few of those choices did I ever come to regret.

I'd love to go back to my childhood and play witness to some of the events that shaped me into the person I am today. I often wonder if I'd view the situations differently from the advantage of age and distance. For example, was Ms. McAndrew, my 5th grade teacher, the witch I remember her being?

If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?"
If I were immortal there'd be some bad guys who would need to hide for awhile. I have a strong sense of justice and I'd use my immorality to rights some wrongs.

Mrs. Keener's pound cake!! There's nothing like it in all the world. My sister and I have tried replicating the recipe without success. Thank God, the dear lady is still alive and baking her delicious goodness.

Hi Melissa,I love listening to Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, and Hozier. I also love Muse, Vampire Weekend, and Kings of Leon. As far as inspiration for Blame It On The Snow, "Take Me To Church" by Hozier was the biggest inspiration.

Hi Linda, I've been a lifelong reader so there are many authors who inspired me. Specifically, I love J. R. Ward, Marie Force, and Laura Kaye. I began writing as an escape during a particularly dark period of time. I swear it saved my sanity. I also write contemporary/military romance as Melissa Klein. I decided to branch into erotic romance because my editor kept telling me my contemporary romance love scenes were too erotic. I love being able to make the love scenes as spicy as I want.

Hi Melissa,I love listening to Bruno Ma..."
Love that! Great list:)

There's a whole story that goes with my love of pound cake. Perhaps I'll write it one day. The short version is that Mrs. Keener only gives her pound cake to someone when there's a death in the family.

It's not terribly sad. Macabre perhaps, when you think how excited my sister and I get about this pound cake. Mrs. Keener played an important role in my childhood and I have many memories and food associations tied to her.

I like confidence and kindness in a male character. I like the women I create to speak their mind and know what's best for themselves. To be realistic, characters have to be flawed. Who whats to read about someone who's perfect? My characters usually have a mistaken belief about themselves, such as, "I'm unlovable." They are also usually impatient, cynical, or guarded in someway.
