5.2. Cowabunga!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debuted in the 1980s, a somewhat tongue in cheek cartoon show involving large crime fighting turtles and their rat sensei Splinter. The main characters were named after Italian artists living from 1386 to 1564: Michelangelo (1475-1564), Leonardo (1452-1519), Donatello (1386-1466), Raphael (1483-1520).

Read a book set in Italy, or in the 14th-16th centuries (1300 - 1599). REQUIRED: If the place or date of the setting is not clearly indicated in the GR description or metadata, include a reference to establish this.

You're going to need to provide a reference establishing the time of the setting when you post. A guess from a scholar or a reviewer would need to be supported by some sort of evidence in the play.

There is no rule against using non-fiction - when a task calls for "a book," fiction or non-fiction would work. And even though "Italy" didn't exactly exist as a country at that period, any of the parts of what is now Italy will work.
