Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith eked out the win with 9 votes to Resorting to Murder: Holiday Mysteries's 8 votes.
Since the August theme was supposed to be "American author," and since Patricia Highsmith is an American author, I propose that we ratify Resorting to Murder as our August read. August is a well known "holiday" month, so I think this would be a great way to enjoy both books!
So:
July: Strangers on a Train
August: Resorting to Murder: Holiday Mysteries

It's been ages since I read Strangers on a Train, but I'm kinda looking forward to revisiting it.

Oh, cool. I'm glad we'll be getting to Resorting to Murder, too, after all, because I for one will sit out Strangers on a Train. I have no desire whatsoever to revisit these guys' minds. Give me Ripley any day of the week instead ...
(Hmm. Come to think of it, I just might do that -- read a Ripley novel to stay with the "American author" theme at least.)
Anyway, I remember liking Resorting to Murder (mostly), so I'm looking forward to revisiting that one.
