Amazing—Goodreads actually sent me this message! The first message about an active thread that I’ve received in several days. They’re just getting worse and worse.

I have totally given up on expecting GR to send me anything. I check my homepage every day and keep up to date that way.

I try to do that too, but I’m in almost twenty groups so it’s very time-consuming. And I hate not seeing everyone’s reviews every morning! Goodreads seems to be run by the same person who runs the Post Office . . . 😄

Good observation, Amanda. I was watching Rachel Maddow last night, and his latest proposals—all mind-blowingly bad—includes discontinuing mail movement by air, all mail would travel by truck. They want to privatize the system, so trying to cripple from within. There will be an opportunity for public comments, am trying to track down link as my mail delivery is closely tied to my book acquisitions, as well as my prescriptions , and I care about reliable deliveries very much.

Goodreads, also, needs better coding and ease of use, as I venture to guess many on here did not grow up with the technology and need it to be as easy to use as possible.

My husband will be very happy. He loves Stella Gibbons. Personally, I loved the whole roster, and hope to re-read most of them. I bought Nightingale Wood in May, it will be my first time reading it, which is a treat.

that looks good and my library has it! a first time read for me, as well.

It will be a library book for me as well. Normally I would be worried about the book being deleted, but the library as well as some other nice things like public gardens have had a budget cut, so I'm pretty confident the book will still be there. 😏
