Cass (all too tired) | 51 comments Here's The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue fanfiction that is my first draft and unedited. I also don't have a title currectly, so it's just called crack/modern/therapist au. You don't technically need to read the book to understand the story, it just adds more dimension if you have.

Felicity isn’t amused. “This is the stupidest con you have ever tried to pull and on our own father no less! He’s going to see right through you.” She crosses her arms.
I pay her no mind as I type out the paragraph I am going to send to Father. In my most regal voice I read aloud, “Father, I must ask for a favor. My husband and I are having relationship issues and seeing that would tarnish your pristine reputation, I must ask you for money to pay for our couples therapy.” I smirk at her. “Any suggestions?”
Felicity, as Feli does, rolls her eyes, but leans over my shoulder to look at the text. “He’s not going to give you the money.” Then picks up her medical book and starts reading again.
An idea strikes me and I smile at her. “How about we make a bet?” Felicity gives me an appraising look, setting her book aside again.
“What do I get when I win?”
“Uh, I’ll cover for you during the next family gathering,” I sighed, knowing that’s the only thing she would accept other than removing myself from her life. “But, if I win - however unlikely you think that is - you have to cover for me during the next family gathering. Deal?” I held out my hand and she took it. I reach over with one hand and send the text message before I have time to rethink my decision.
