Duck Hunt is the name of your team. You can read any of the prompts—you're not limited to just the ones in the Nintendo category. Each year I pick a general theme, and this year classic video games were calling me (last year was the Roaring Twenties).
The categories are there to break up the prompts and give extra incentives for more points if a group completes all prompts in a category.
I’m very new to the online book world. Is a buddy read just where more than one person reads the same book? And for the challenge, would we have to start the book around the same time for it to count?

@Brianna - buddy read is where a group of people decide to read the same book together. The key would be discuss the book with each other even if you don't start the same time.

The main caveat for buddy reads is that they must be coordinated through the Procrastinator's Book Club.
You can request a buddy read through this link. Buddy reads can have more than two people.

What I Plan On Reading In June

What I Hope To Get To

Yeah that works! I know it's short but do you want to plan for two days? Possibly the 10th to the 11th?

Awesome! Just let the mods know over in the buddy reads thread.

Yep! Over in the Buddy Reads Nomination thread for June just say that you want to join the buddy read for The Pure Moon Reflected in Water and they'll add you.
If you have any books that you were thinking of reading you can also post them there and if anyone is interested in buddy reading them with you they'll let you know!
There's also a list of books people are looking for buddies for in the first post if you wanted to see if there was any you were interested in joining!

Awesome! How does June 26th to the 31st sound? I have a lot of buddy reads going on at the beginning of the month so end of the month would work best for me. We can push the end date into July if you want a little more time to read it!
![laurel [the suspected bibliophile] (laurelthereader)](https://images.gr-assets.com/users/1645808644p1/7494844.jpg)
I hope you are all ready to read, and that you have a wonderful time!
My availability will be limited these first few days since I'm in the middle of moving, but Althea, Aless and Mina are here to answer any questions you may have.
It looks like you've already found this out, but here are some pro-tips:
-Buddy Reads are your money makers, particularly if you BR within your group and pick a book that can be used for several prompts
-You can complete a category multiple times
-Group Reads are also a fantastic way to get extra points—don't forget to participate in our thread!
-And have fun! That's the most important thing about our team games, because in the end the points don't matter, what's important are the friends you make along the way.

That works for me!
That works for me!

First I’m finishing the bridge kingdom series! Then I’ll probably continue with the group reads! How about you guys?

I've been putting off a lot of books I've really been wanting to read until this challenge started so I'm gonna start with a new book by my favorite author Natasha Pulley called The Kingdoms. I'm gonna read it alongside this new graphic novel called Wynd that looks really good. The art style is right up my alley.

Ooh amazing! Happy reading!

It's our first weekly update! Woohoo!
Remember, those buddy and group reads are where the points are won—and if you buddy read within your teams your points add up a lot faster. And if you're feeling a little behind, that's okay! In the past it's not always the groups that jump ahead in the beginning that win in the end. Points can change dramatically from week to week—the goal is to keep reading, keep posting updates, and rack up those bonus points!
Three housekeeping notes as we roll past our first week:
1. Don't forget to put the prompt category and number in your completion post. It helps us out a lot!
2. We found some errors in the teams' spreadsheets. All that have been identified are fixed, but if you notice more, please let us know.
3. We count page points very leniently as there are a lot of different versions of things (particularly with ebooks, physical editions and older books). I know everyone wants the most page points possible, but please pick the edition you read or something that has a page number within the majority of the other editions (no outliers). The number on your ebook might differ from Goodreads, but that could be due to how you have your font sized configured—please go with the Goodreads number. Also, while buddy reading, I recommend that all parties involved settle on a single page number for their book—it means less follow up from the mods when we spot inconsistent numbers.
Happy Summer Days

LINKS TO SPREADSHEET AND DISCORD
To help track your team points, strategize and communicate, we've created individual team spreadsheets and team discord channels. Please note that the mods will not be checking either of these unless we are asked. Also, huge huge huge shout-out to Selina, who created the original team spreadsheet, taught us how to be amazing at excel, and is amazing herself, and also to Mina, who did a lot of the legwork in adapting it to team use. Any errors within it are mine—please let me know if you spot anything wonky.
