Duration: June 1, 2021 – August 31, 2021
We are a YA Book Club, so most books should be young adult (unless otherwise noted).
You have 3 months to read 10 YA books that satisfy following requirements:
1) Read a book that is a new release published in June, July or August of 2020. Goodreads offers lists of the most popular new releases by month; they might help you to make your choices -June, July, August . (If you have difficulties obtaining these new books, you can read a release from the same months 2019).
2) Read a book whose title starts with one of the letters of the word SUMMER.
3) Time for some Summer Cleaning! Read a book from the bottom of your TBR pile!
4) June 1 is International TableTop Day. Read a book with a game, any game.
5) June 3 is Repeat Day. Re-read a favourite book!
6) July 1 is Canada Day and July 4 is Independence Day in the US. Read a book with a celebration or read a book where a country or people fight for independence. Let me know in the comments when your country has their Independence Day if they have one!
7) August 26 is Franchise Appreciation Day. Read a book that is part of a series.
The rest of these are just random summer type ideas because none of the "special" days brought inspiration.
8) Read a book that feels like summer to you. It can be a beach setting, on the water, in the desert etc.
9) Read a book where the characters travel and/or is set in a foreign country.
10) Since we are living in the time of COVID-19 this last book can be any book that brings you happiness and helps your mental health. It can be a self help book, a book about COVID and pandemics, YA, adult fiction, poetry, literally anything you want. Art helps us through tough times and we are living through some hard things right now. Sending love to all of you!!!
