Sign up to the challenge where it is shown at the top of the discussions on the Group Home Page.
If you don't see the latest active challenge click the link Challenges.
You will be asked which shelf the books to read are on. If you say horse and you do not have a horse bookshelf, Goodreads will put one in to your personal list of shelves.
When you complete a read and place it on that shelf Goodreads sees the progress.

Now the challenge registers that you have read some of the books.

You might decide to name it challenge shelf so it would be used for challenges in any other Group too.
Tell us your titles in this thread.

Romance with horses was the winning theme for summer. However, ranch life was a close runner-up, so your romance might be set on a ranch.
I have chosen to read five books and I think I can do it, summer should be a relaxing time for me.
Members are allowed to re-read a book, of course, and we can refer other members to good new reads. I'm keen to see your titles!

Linda Shantz | 25 comments I've taken to listening to audiobooks while I do my stalls. I've just started to listen to a historical romance called Betting on a Duke's Heart because it's connected to horse racing, which is my thing. So I'll have "read" at least one romance this summer! :-)

Color My Horse
Color My Horse (Racetrack Romance, #1) by Bev Pettersen
Bev has written quite a few one-off horse stories in the romantic suspense vein.

I've just read Her Small Town Secret
Her Small Town Secret by Brenda Minton
which has a miniature horse and a full-size horse, so that counts towards my challenge books.

I've read The Bronc Rider Takes a Fall
The Bronc Rider Takes a Fall (The Tremaynes of Texas, #3) by Debra Holt

which I am counting towards my total. However... not many named horses. More a romance than a horse book. With a name like that, sheesh, you'd think...

I've just read The Horse Trainer's Secret
The Horse Trainer's Secret by Allison Leigh

which counts towards my Summer Challenge!
This one is a romance for adults, which includes a horse rescue and rehoming centre.

Linda Shantz | 25 comments I finished this one last week - a prequel for a new series. A sweet but sad story. The Double R

I finished Missing in the Desert by Dana Mentink The Texas SEAL's Surprise A Clean Romance by Cari Lynn Webb

so that's my target met. How are you doing, Linda?

message 16: by Linda (new)

Linda Shantz | 25 comments I'm not sure I kept very good track of things, haha. I read the ones I noted, and I'm excited to start the follow-up to The Double R (it just came out). I admit I've been focusing more on writing than reading!

Got to write!
I am looking now for an Autumn / Fall challenge, and apologies to those in the southern hemisphere where of course it is coming into spring.
Got any ideas for a theme? I'll run a poll again.

Anyone is welcome to suggest ideas. If there is a horsey book you've been meaning to read or want to re-read, let me know and I'll figure out what theme would include your book.
