The Light Brigade
A Closed and Common Orbit

Still on Kraken. Such a weird story but I love it.

message 4: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments I'm on to Blood and Honor, the sequel to Blue Moon Rising

message 5: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I finished Darkspell. I didn't really like it. I got lost especially when it followed new characters for a brief period, and I didn't know how they were relevant to the story. It could be me too. I was dealing with some difficult personal stuff last month, and this series requires a lot of focus, which I just didn't have. I still have the last couple of books of the first series, so I kind of do want to finish it at some point, but I just can't do it right now.

And I've been needing a break from fantasy right now, so I'm reading The Lost Girls of Paris.

Aaron (zalejin) | 248 comments Shadow of the Apt is on audio so starting that again and re-reading (3rd time lol) Empire in Black and Gold and Dragonfly Falling (2nd time). Might slip in Moving Pictures in between

message 7: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments And now Down Among the Dead Men, the third in the Forest Kingdom series.

message 9: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments I'm on to Swords of Haven: The Adventures of Hawk and Fisher, in which the heroes of Blue Moon Rising have become members of the City Watch in a grubby, corrupt fantasy city.

message 10: by Palash (new)

Palash (naikon) | 63 comments Finished reading The Eye of the World. A promising start to a long journey. Liked the detailed worldbuilding and overall plot. Though there were some pacing issues in first half of the book. Similarity with LOTR didn't affect me much as I haven't read LOTR. Overall, a good first book in the series.

I have already started The Great Hunt. It is turning out to be better than first book.

Have fun with these. It's always fun to be able to read a whole new series for the first time. I loved them all up to about book 8 and then it seemed to stall and go nowhere. I never finished the series but I do intend to at some point.

message 12: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I finished Trail of Lightning. I had a really fun time with it and immediately moved on to the next book, Storm of Locusts, but I know I'm going to be disappointed knowing these are the only two books out so far.

I’m reading The Girl and the Mountain

message 14: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments After finishing up a whole bunch of Simon R. Green books while I was on vacation, I started The Journeyer, Gary Jennings' gigantic (blood-soaked and sex-filled) historical novel about Marco Polo.

Mary Catelli | 815 comments Aria: The Masterpiece, Volume 4 by Kozue Amano

message 16: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I finished The Lost Girls of Paris. It was good. Now bit by the sci-fi bug again and reading The Luminous Dead. Expecting a lot of suspense.

I'm listening to the book Thomas by Michael G. Manning. It is absolutely great. Highly recommended.

message 18: by Janette (new)

Janette | 211 comments I'm reading King of Ashes I love the Magician books (until they got too repetetive). This one is OK but I'm finding it quite easy to put down so not one of the best fantasy books I've read.

Oh I’ve not read that. Wondering what I’d make of it.

I’m reading The Blacktongue Thief. It’s interesting etc but I’m struggling to stay attentive. Not sure if it’s his random word choices- every so often I find myself rereading sentences for clarification. I’m a third in and have been reading it over a week.

Palash (naikon) | 63 comments Finished reading The Great Hunt. It was fantastic. Better than first book in series.
Reading The Dragon Reborn now.

I finished Thomas. It was great. I'm surprised it's not more popular. I highly recommend it. Now I'm on to The Innocent Mage. I'm loving it also.

message 23: by Marc (new)

Marc (authorguy) | 393 comments Just finished Poltergeist, spending a lot of my reading time with J.D. Robb's In Death series, futuristic mysteries. I don't care about the mystery element so much as the 'therapeutic journey' the MC is on right from the start. Eve Dallas is a very damaged person, but as the series goes on she becomes able to heal. Lots of good secondary characters.

Marcelo Troysi (mvtroysi) | 6 comments Just finished Conjure Wife by Fritz Leiber. This man was a genius in the genre.
Now I am reading Wolves of the Calla, the fifth book in the Dark Tower series by King. It has been pretty fun so far.

I love the Innocent Mage, first read the series around 10 years ago.

I haven't been able to finish this series yet. I kept reading from book 1 to around book 4-5 and then life got in the way and I had to start over because I forgot so many details.

Yes, I really love this kind of fantasy. I can already tell I'll be reading the second book sometime this year.

Finished the The Innocent Mage. I did not see that coming. Rated it 4 stars. Really nice classic fantasy.
