I'm a meanie, and even I gave it 5 stars. It's also a book I might want to re-read one day, which is rare for me.
Wow five stars! I do really want to read this but I'm mot staying on top of all my planned reading so far. Yet again I keep buying and borrowing books and not getting to them. It's the story of my life.
Thanks for putting this up.

That is so awesome, that there's a word for it.

Glad you did, Candace. We look forward to you possibly reviewing this book.
Zelda would be a fun person to know or hang out with, for sure.

This is my review:
This is an astonishing book. I enjoyed every page. The author's voice was spot on. The story and the characters are unforgettable. Nicely done!

When We Were Vikings by Andrew David MacDonald is an uplifting debut about an unlikely heroine whose journey will leave you wanting to embark on a quest of your own, because after all...
We are all legends of our own making.
When 21 year old Zelda finds out that Gert has resorted to some questionable—and dangerous—methods to make enough money to keep them afloat, Zelda decides to launch her own quest. Her mission: to be legendary. It isn’t long before Zelda finds herself in a battle that tests the reach of her heroism, her love for her brother, and the depth of her Viking strength.
